I do not understand many linuxers with are obsequious with Google What is Google bringing to the Linux world? Maybe to say that the millions and millions of cell phones with Android use the kernel sounds cool, but… did it start a revolution towards Linux? The sad reality is that 90% of the people who use Android have no idea what the Linux kernel is.
And the worst thing is that Android is becoming the new Microsoft, a new monopoly OS that forces manufacturers and software developers. And like Windows, it rots the user's head. They have no idea what nonsense you read on the internet. On a tech page, in a Tizen article, people thought it was crap because (sic) it didn't have Google Play (!!!). The user no longer has even the pair of neurons to realize how stupid it is to pretend that a developer uses tools from their competition. The Linux Foundation forgetting that in addition to promoting the kernel among hardware manufacturers, it has to campaign strongly among application developers (who would want a platform with few applications?)

Google Play is not a big deal, because they don't pay you like Apple does when you release your paid apps, and the true fragmentation between versions is enormous.
Let's see if in a few months they take out the FF OS port for Galaxy Mini (or try to do so). I use Android because it's the one that came to me on my smartphone, but I don't idolize it as many people think.
