Google lashes out at Apple

Some time ago it was news that acquisition of Motorola by Google and many speculated that the "Internet giant" was looking for its "location" on mobile devices since by acquiring Motorola the future of Android that would begin to occur in these devices.

Today I received a Tweet from @Renata_Franco (someone I don't know personally but what a pleasure to read your opinions) where he mentions a new legal strategy for Google to protect your investments.

It turns out that the "super company" was launched to defend Motorola swashbuckling against the boys from La Manzanita (Apple) that tried to prohibit the use in the USA of devices that had to Android as an Operating System. Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), was doing his thing and had in his sights companies such as HTC, Samsung y Motorola in a legal lawsuit but things changed drastically when it began to be Motorola part of the family of Google.

Google y Motorola They have played intelligently and now they have gone to court with a lawsuit that has nothing to do with minor things like whether or not icons are used, but with patent infringement by non-standard patents by Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),.

According to this article It is not really known what the patent is but it is known that it has to do with the use of Wi-Fi. The differences between Motorola y Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), were being treated since 2010 but apparently Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), never heeded the statements of Motorola.

These "clash of the titans" events always bring great upheavals in the world since in the end those who are going to suffer are us, the end users, who, as always, are the weakest link in the chain and who have neither voice nor vote in these fights. On the one hand, the demand for Google then Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), it would be involved with nothing more and nothing less than with one of the most influential companies of the moment and in my personal opinion it is one thing to have in front of Motorola and another thing is to have in front of the biggest advertising machinery of the moment (Google).

In the end, we hope that both companies find a solution and that they are the least harmful for users of one or the other Operating System.

Google is not my saint and, in fact, I do not like its behavior in general at all, but it seems very good that it attacks Apple, because that damn company, with its politics tinged with the wildest capitalism, is causing damage tremendous not only to the computer industry, but to culture in general, wanting to take over ideas, good for humanity, for a few coins.
Apple, sheltered in the dirty mess of patents (which do not protect anything except the interests of the largest companies, those that suck blood), the only thing it seeks is to curb competition to disrupt smaller companies and, in this way, aim at a monopoly or, at least, at an oligopoly.

It's nice that there are people who say things as they are without fanaticism.

I fully subscribe to your words. Absolutely agree.

Strongly agree, Apple's patent issue borders on the absurd, is it so afraid of competing?

This reminds me of an old song: "Fight the giants, turn the air into natural gas ..." 🙂 These two gorillas (Google and Apple) make Microsoft look like a good boy these days.

It seems good to me, that Google makes Apple pay for all the patents that Apple has used since 2007 and without paying a penny, they talk about copying and others but they do not pay patents on things that had already been invented and use their devices.

Maybe in this way google reminds apple that they are not alone in the world and that in this technology, everything new that is made is done on stones that someone else has already invented!

"In this technology, everything new is done on stones that someone else has already invented"
And not only in the field of technology. Throughout the history of mankind, culture has been forged thanks to this characteristic, which can be seen in letters and other arts, in different technological developments, etc.
I leave the link to a very interesting documentary that talks about this: Everything is a remix, by Kirby Ferguson: http://vimeo.com/42393680.

It should be forbidden to patent very basic things. Good God, Apple was lashing out at samsumg because the apple people basically believe they own the black rectangles. Patents are getting more and more ridiculous.

Totally agree. It is absurd and surreal. I wonder what these companies have more, if programmers or lawyers, because of course where they do not stop is in the courts.

For gigantic mega-companies like Google, Apple or Microsoft, the last thing that matters to them is the users. There comes a time when their only concern is, no longer money, because they have to cover the world in gold, but to extend their dominance throughout the world, for which they need to eliminate competitors. Hence these clashes.
They can all go to hell for me.
