Guide for collaborators DesdeLinux

We are very proud of where we have arrived with DesdeLinux. Our blog has been gaining many (and good) followers, and of course contributors as well.

We believe that this is due to the Community spirit that is breathed around them. We believe in Community and how valuable their contributions can be, and that is why anyone who wants and is interested can transmit their knowledge and experiences through our blog. We do not charge or pay for it! It is only necessary to have the desire to share. Do you want to collaborate? Well, this guide shows you how to do it.

This guide (in its first draft) Its objective is to show what are the elements to take into account when publishing an article. Complying with the parameters exposed in it not only makes the articles have better quality, but also saves a lot of work for the team of editors.

Any questions or suggestions you have, please, you can send it to our email staff [at] desdelinux [dot] net with the subject: Drafting Guide or using our section of the forum dedicated to it..

By collaborating with us, you collaborate with everyone… Thank you for that.

To begin with, it seems like a good guide ...

I hope announcements like these can encourage other users to write an article, it is not necessary for them to "marry" the blog, if there is relevant information that in your opinion should be published write and send it, it is not necessary to be writing two or three per week, sometimes one is enough ...

It's about giving something back to the community ...

    Saludos y larga vida a Desdelinux ...

You're right, what's more, it should be put in a tab or category, always have it visible.

It's pretty good, a lot of those things happen to me sometimes. What I do think is necessary is to review the articles to avoid spelling mistakes and that. The guide explains it, but in practice they have passed titles with just a question mark and so on. It is a question of aesthetics and property.

    I recently discovered this site.
He was a follower of a well-known yellow portal where its main editor is a Windows user and has very little idea of GNU / Linux. And worst of all, the portal receives sponsorship from companies like Microsoft.
So I am looking for a site dedicated to GNU / linux with news and guides, without the need for yellows or hollow entries in search of visits.
Por lo poco que he visto, creo que lo he encontrado aquí en DesdeLinux.
    Thank you.

Me gusta el espíritu de DesdeLinux y la camaradería que existe, por eso me adhiero a él y leo sus entradas y trato de aprender de ellas.
Unfortunately I lack experience and therefore my knowledge is very limited, so it is not possible for me to contribute anything relevant. It is more, having here great teachers that I can contribute. But I like to learn and there are many things to read here. Thank you all.

This should be a "must see" before publishing, I feel that I have missed the publication tag several times, but it can always be improved, right? 😀
Another attractive thing about this blog is the litter there is, that is, an environment free of trolls (not like other technology pages, eg muylinux, genbeta, etc ...)

With more visitors, more articles and more collaborators, our plan is becoming more concrete…. DOMINATE THE WORLD !!! MUAAJAJAJAJAJA! *evil laugh*

Personally I see this as something that was needed, from now on I announce that what I am going to say surely falls to more than one like a punch in the belly, but those who know me know well how I am.

The guide is written not only in order to help those who do not know or who are starting, it is also written in order to take those who already publish and who do it in the wrong way. It is not a secret that many collaborators release not articles, but drafts that must be corrected in almost all aspects; from spelling to semantics, aesthetics and SEO ... just to mention something.

Those who have the task of filtering all this content are Elav, Gaara, Manuel de la Fuente and I, four pelagatos with their own affairs who dedicate a lot of their time to this project and believe me when I tell you that I really, really, really, You can lose up to an hour correcting all the errors that a draft (and I repeat, I consider them complete articles) and then, just to be sure, take a look to see if by chance, it is not a Copy-Paste ( that has already happened, and not once but several times) ...

We have to work and put that as something fixed and visible, that everyone looks at and that they adopt, send it by email if possible or try to keep people "annoyed" in a certain way with it, since, dupe who it hurts, there are many lazy writers who seem to think that others just have to polish what they write.

Don't get me wrong, I love that you want to collaborate, but there are things that for the love of God, you can't ...

For this reason, and as I already mentioned in the forum, a section is needed where ALL editors can give our point of view on each article before being published, it is not necessary a WP section or something programmed by hand, it can also be done in a section of the forum with exclusive access, that from my point of view, would take huge amounts of work off their backs ...

      Cheers !!! ...

    2.    elav said

Nano, I repeat the same thing that I put you in G +:

Many people want to collaborate and do not know how to do it, and I mean knowing SEO techniques, writing styles and others. As there are also many people who, despite being bad at spelling, find it difficult to install a dictionary in their browser. The point is that what is appreciated is collaboration, no matter where it comes from and how you write ... unfortunately that's what the editors are for ...

The objective of this guide is the same, that people who want to collaborate take into account some details so that their articles have more quality in terms of the structure of the information.

      1.    dwarf said

Yes, but it would not hurt that some who already have bad habits when publishing, read and were aware. I had bad habits and I corrected them. Why not others?

      Hi!
Well, since you're punching in the belly. I tell you from the good vibes, that I understand well what you say. Perfectly. You are not here to redo drafts.

But with that said. What I do not understand or understand. It is that the text is completely changed and that in the end it says something else and gives another meaning to the entire article.

As I already mentioned, it is an anecdote, and it does not have the slightest importance.
Surely the reviewer felt that I had to improve my text. OK okay. I respect it.
We can conclude that I do not have the level to submit articles. Sounds good to me, there has to be a quality and someone has to maintain it. Perfect.

But yes ... and it is an example ... a KDE fan corrects an article that has problems with KDE and it turns out that he does not agree with the content, or the conclusions or the approach seem not rigorous. Because the one who writes, in your opinion, is a newbie and has no idea about KDE… does he have the right to change the text?
Warn then that the page reserves the right to change the texts for a better "understanding" of the article.

If I comment on this it is so that the "reviewers" also apply a style guide. Do not go to be that they start to correct with a bad day and everything seems bad to them.

I do not mean to be controversial, and I am not bothered by my correction. It is an anecdote. Without any importance.

I had a pending article, but I don't know if it has a level, and I don't manage to handle the publication system, especially the images. So I don't want to leave a "draft" to the reviewers.
      http://linux.ea1gcg.net/index.html#LICO
It is of his own creation, from a few days ago, if anyone dares to take it and hang it as his own, no problem. This is a community.

Many thanks to the editors for their work.

      1.    elav said

So far the changes that at least I make in an article, do not go beyond adjusting the words so that they have more agreement with the idea that the author tries to express. And that is not bad, on the contrary, many people try to say something and simply do not know how to do it. Of course, this does not mean that all the content you put is changed, and it seems to me that so far, that has not happened.

      2.    dwarf said

    Thank you!!..

Although I only contributed with one post (until now) ... I needed some little tips of your tastes on how to publish the articles ...

I think I didn't screw up so much in the first one I did ... except for the "notes" that I didn't know how to put them ... xD

And I think it was more than necessary for those who find it a bit more difficult to be neat.

Great. This suits me very well. I think it should be available for easy viewing somewhere prominent. It seems to me something basic that there is some kind of guide for those who dare to collaborate. "Featured" would be an option, but as more featured articles are added it will disappear. Somewhere more permanent would be better.

Thanks a lot. I will keep this in mind.

Cheers..!! I have been reading the blog for a year or so ... since the forum called Linux-mexico.info ceased to exist and of which I was one more member.
In this forum in addition to asking questions, I gave suggestions to administrators (a certain tuxbencho among others) and even made repost of articles that I found interesting, citing the sources of course.

Something that I found interesting about that now-defunct forum is that the members rose in "category" as they wrote on the forum, to give an example; when one is a newcomer they were considered "tux baby", after about 50 publications "tux junior", then I believe that the "tux warrior" followed, and so on, they would go up in the "category" until they reached the highest category that did not I remember what it was.
PS I am already subscribed to this forum but I have not posted anything yet, because I have not uploaded a single image for the Greek profile.

Good thing this came out 🙂 They should pass a copy to each new editor, and leave a link in a widget, or something ...

This guide is excellent 😀 thanks for the collaboration it would be nice to do what AurosZx says pass it to each new editor or something. How good that linux people are so interested in collaborating with others, something that I hardly see in windows. Very good initiative! not only for this guide but also for bringing this large community together 😉.
