The team AZLinux Zaragoza City Council has prepared and made public the document Free Software Migration Desk (113 pages).
The objective of this document is to offer a global vision of the information and processes that need to be known in order to plan and carry out a successful migration from Desktop environments to Free Software tools. In this sense, this document should be considered as a guide to good practices and not treated as a manual with rigid and immutable steps and processes. |
It is structured in 5 sections.
- State of the art. It describes the current situation of the Libre Desk through statistical data, projects and organizations involved in the migration processes to SL.
- Methodological Guide. It offers a vision about the procedures and processes necessary to migrate the desktops of an organization to free software tools. It is a neutral guide without specific technological references.
- Technical Guide. It shows points of view on the most appropriate technological paths and routes to carry out this process.
- SWOT analysis of weaknesses, threats, strengths and opportunities of the Free Desktop.
- Conclusions. Based on all the information, both qualitative and quantitative, a series of conclusions and recommendations are offered to improve migration plans and processes.

Hi marcos! The link works for me phenomenon. See if it works now. Maybe it was a momentary fall.
Cheers! Paul.
This is the page you passed down 🙁 a shame, because from what you put it seems like a nice manual and above all different from all the many others out there. I would like to give him a quick leidita to see how he deals with the issues.
Thanks for the information! hopefully the page will be active again soon
no, it keeps giving me problems, it's actually the problem with zaragoza.es in general, I don't know why it will be or whether it will be me alone or not 🙁 a shame.
and that I tested with firefox, chrome and with a browser made in python xD
This report is impressive for the quality of the information collected. Of course it is Spain ... It is to read carefully and use it in rebuttals against the detractors that we come across every day. Ah, I can access the azlinux website well, greetings
Thanks Chelito! A hug!! Paul.
