Worms According to Wikipedia, it is a series of video games in the genre of turn-based military strategy. In these games, two or more players who control one or more characters for a certain time face each other, with the aim of eliminating the opponents' characters. This game has had a lot of alternatives on different platforms, such as Worms 3 for Android.
We have already talked about Wormux a clone of Worms that I particularly love because its characters are pets related to GNU / Linux, and this time I'll talk about another very similar one: Hedgewars.
Hedgewars is a turn-based strategy game also based on the saga Worms but with pink hedgehogs instead of worms. The objective of the game is to defeat the rest of the participating teams using various weapons, tools and the tactical advantage of the terrain. Hedgewars It has nice graphics but too childish and "pink" for my taste.
How to play Hedgewars?
Each player controls a team of several hedgehogs. During the course of the game, players take turns with one of their hedgehogs. With the right click of the mouse we can select the weapon we want, and then with the keyboard arrows we move «the sight» playing with the position we have on the ground. When we are ready, with the space bar we adjust the power of our shot and that's it.
By default our weapon is the Bazuka, however we have available for our use an entire arsenal, mortar, rifle, baseball bat, dynamite, grenade, everything you can imagine that will help you destroy the enemy team 😀
To install Hedgewars, look in your official repository for the package of the same name.
For example in Debian, Ubuntu or similar it would be to install it:
sudo apt-get install hedgewars
sudo pacman -S hedgewars
Although we do not find the 3D mode that we enjoy in the latest versions of Worms, with Hedgewars and its 2D we can spend quality time with our partner or brother, throwing grenades and others.
