How to install LibreOffice 4 on Fuduntu

LibreOffice 4 it is already available for download a few weeks ago. Unfortunately it is not yet available in the repositories of fuduntu.

The solution is to download and install it ourselves. The installation is quite simple and shouldn't present any problems. Let's see how to do it.

This is a contribution from Francisco Alonso, thus becoming one of the winners of our weekly competition: «Share what you know about Linux«. Congratulations Francisco!

Steps to follow

Let's go to www.libreoffice.com/download

Automatically the page will detect the type of packages that our distro uses (rpm), type of system (x86_x64 in my case) and language.
We download the three necessary files. The download is done via Torrent.
If we look closely we will see that it gives us instructions on the order in which we must install the files.

Once the download is finished we will have three files, which we have to unzip. I recommend creating a folder with the name "LibreOffice_4". This will be the main folder where the three subfolders that we will get when unzipping LibreOffice will be.

We go into the LibreOffice_4.0.1.2_Linux_x86-64_rpm folder and then into RPMS. Then, we right click and select "Open in a terminal."

In the terminal we write the command "su" (without quotes) and the root password.

Now we write the command "yum -y localinstall * .rpm" as shown in the image.

We wait for it to finish installing all the packages.

Now we go into the desktop-integration folder and repeat the previous step:

We open a terminal, as root we write "yum -y localinstall * .rpm", as shown in the image.

We wait for it to finish.

Now we go back to the main folder and we go to the folder with the ending: langpack_es.

We go into it and then into RPMS. We repeat the previous steps.
We open a terminal and as root we write:

yum -y localinstall * .rpm

Now we go back to the main folder and we go to the folder with completion: helppack_es.

We enter RPMS. We will find only one file. We will install it in the same way as in the previous case, but instead of writing * .rpm in the terminal, we will write the full name of the package:

We open a terminal and write as root:

yum -y localinstall libobasis4.0-en-help-4.0.1.2-2.x86_64.rpm

We wait for it to finish installing and that's it. We already have our LibreOffice 4 on Fuduntu.
