How to use Rhythmbox to sync your music with any USB device

Rhythmbox is great for transferring music to your iPhone or mp3 player. It even converts the songs to mp3 format so you don't have any problems. But what if the USB device that you insert is not a classic music player but, for example, a simple memory that you will then put in the car's music player? Well, for everything there is a solution. 🙂
The steps are as follows:

1) Insert the memory or USB device.

2) Once it was detected by Nautilus, create a file with the following name: .is_audio_player

Note the point before is_audio_player. Also, don't panic if the file you created later magically "disappears". What happens is that by putting a point forward the file will be hidden. To be able to see it again using Nautilus you only need to press Ctrl + H.

3) Paste the following text into the newly created file:

audio_folders=mp3/
folder_depth=1
You can change mp3 by the path where you want the music to be saved to be stored on the USB device. The folder_depth property tells Rhythmbox what name to give to the folder in which the music of each Artist and Album will be saved. When it is equal to 1, it is saved in the format «- <Album>»; when it is equal to 2 it creates a folder and within it a subfolder <Album>.
4) After saving the file, I opened Rhythmbox. If it didn't detect your device, go to Music> Inspect Removable Media. You should see something like this.

5) Now you just have to drag all your music to your device. In the case of music in other formats, it will be automatically converted to mp3 before being transferred to the device. Very thick!
