HTML5 + Gtk 3.2 + Brodway = Applications in the browser

When we talk about Gnome 3.2 release We mention the possibility of creating web applications using Epiphany, but we do not address a slightly more interesting topic related to that, which will set a tone in the future of OS without a doubt.

Together with Gnome3.2 comes to light Gtk + 3.2, which supports a backend called Broadway that allows us to execute render applications gtk in all those browsers with support for HTML5.

Where is the kit of the thing for me? That by making use of this technology it will be possible to have in the not too distant future, a whole Operating system in the cloud, running those applications that we normally use as Gedit, Gimp, LibreOffice and anyone who uses gtk. In the image that starts this article we can see Gedit running over Firefox.

Interesting right? We would only have to have a browser on any Operating system what support HTML5 to run our favorite applications. Although I do not know much about the subject, I think that in this regard Gtk + he was ahead of Qt so it would be interesting to see what the future holds.
