Hypnotix: A native Linux Mint app
What is Hypnotix?
According to his official section on the official website of Linux Mint on GitHub, "Hypnotix" is briefly described as:
"An IPTV M3U player."

How to install Hypnotix?
On Linux Mint
Since, it is a native Linux Mint app it will only suffice with install it graphically through its Software Store o Graphical package manager. Or failing that, through the terminal (console) running the following command order:
«sudo apt install hypnotix»
On derived or compatible Distros
In others Similar, derived or compatible distros can become really difficult make it work, due to dependency problems, lack of libraries among other problems for its installation or proper operation. That is, simply the download and install the available .deb installer in your repository it doesn't make it work in most cases.
«sudo apt install ./Descargas/hypnotix*.deb»
However, we share the following procedure which has been successfully tested over the usual Respin Linux called Miracles GNU / Linux, which is based on MX Linux 19 (Debian 10), and that has been built following our «Guide to Snapshot MX Linux».
Step 1:
Install repository Butterfly: «kelebek333/mint-tools»
«sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kelebek333/mint-tools»
Update package lists
«sudo apt update»
Add repository key
«sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys 23E50C670722A6D9»
Edit repository sources
«sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list.d/kelebek333-ubuntu-mint-tools-impish.list»
And change the word impish by focal or another compatible with your Distro by choosing between the following: Bionic, Focal, Groovy, Hirsute and Impish.
Update package lists again
«sudo apt update»
Install Hypnotix
«sudo apt install hypnotix»

Hello, it has support for chromecast and it is possible, for example, if I have a movie on my laptop, can I transfer it to the tv with this as with vlc for example?

Greetings, Juanjosegarcia. Thanks for your comment. Nowhere explored did I see references to that functionality in Hypnotix. And since Hypnotix is still in full development, it is very possible that they will add this functionality and others at any time. Which would be great.
Works great, even with large lists.
It is imperatively lacking, a channel search engine, you can go crazy….
Also a better support for languages in the reproduction and to block the «timeshift», since if you touch the mouse wheel, you delay the reproduction…. and when is a direct ...
