Install Broadcom Drivers (Proprietary) on Ubuntu 13.04

BroadCom-Linux

We go to a computer that has internet and download:

Download DKMS

Download Broadcom STA Driver 32 Bits

Download Broadcom STA Driver 64 Bits

Then on the computer we want to install it:

Double click first on DKMS and install, then install BCMWL depending on your architecture. For this we must have GDebi installed, if not, then we open a terminal and put:

$ sudo dpkg -i dkms_2.2.0.3-1.1ubuntu1_all.deb $ sudo dpkg -i bcmwl-kernel-source_6.20.155.1 + bdcom-0ubuntu6_ [architecture] .deb
It is not necessary to restart, in my case I immediately detect the wireless networks.

    Dear °> Install article proofreader.

In the draft of the article I had already considered the option from command line, but I regretted sending it as such because I tried to approach it from the point of view of a new user. Regards.

Dear editor of ° <Linux articles, for this tutorial it is assumed that from the beginning, since there is no internet and since it is a new installation, Gdebi is not installed on the target computer, only the Ubuntu Software Center, which IS it supports installations from Deb files if the install button is disabled, just click on File - Install on the menu.

In the draft of the article I had already considered the option from command line, but I regretted sending it as such because I tried to approach it from the point of view of a new user. Regards.

Connect via cable and look for jockey.

      Activate the drivers from there.

    2.    Christopher castro said

Look for Jockey in the programs installed in Ubuntu. In the dash.

    Hi Christopher,
I don't have the Jockey installed but I haven't needed it. Automatically I already have it and I see several networks.
    Thank you.
