Intel It has already announced its new generation of processors for mobile devices at CES in January, but it is now officially launched at MWC in Barcelona.
Known as Clover Trail + that was released under the name of processors Intel Atom to replace processors Medfield, which were not very successful last year. The models are the Z2580, Z2560, and Z2520, all dual-core and clocked at 2 GHz, 1,6 GHz, and 1,2 GHz, respectively.
They are equipped with PowerVR SGX 544 dual-core GPUs. Intel promises that they will perform far better than Medfield (the minimum is to be expected), but they will also be cheaper, with less power.
Intel Atom processors will support DC-HSPA + 42 Mbps and HSUPA Category 7 11,5 Mbps, but will not support 4G LTE technology. However, it can be used in conjunction with an XMM 7160 chip that supports up to 15 different bands for LTE and HSPA +, built with 22nm architecture.
Lenovo, Asus and ZTE will be the first manufacturers to use the new processors. Last year, Motorola launched the Razr i with Medfield, which reached several Latin American countries, but the company appears to be no longer an Intel partner in this fight.
