Intel officially offers LibreOffice for download on its AppStore

LibreOffice, that fork of OpenOffice which has even surpassed this second, I don't think much presentation is needed, right? 🙂

Intel... well, we don't need to explain what it is either Intel 😀

The point is that Intel has a software store, a website where he offers software for CPU devices Atom: Intel App Up.

It happens that by App Up, Intel offers for free download to LibreOffice, which is undoubtedly a step forward for our community, open standards, as well as ... maybe a step backward for Microsoft Office?

To access LibreOffice in Intel AppUP here is the link:

LibreOffice on Intel AppUp (SM) center

Now ... this is not just that Intel offers it for free download, this goes much further.

Intel is a member of the Document Foundation, if to this we add that Dawn Foster (Intel Open Source Community Leader) said:

I have been using LibreOffice since day one for conference presentations as well as for data analysis. Our engineers have worked with the LibreOffice base code to optimize it for our Intel hardware. Adding it to the AppUpSM Center makes sense, it will provide outstanding capacity for all Ultrabook users.

I don't know about you, but I think that a huge step forward has been taken here 🙂

Mhh I don't understand why if intel helps the project, with all the money they have they don't try to change the interface a bit to libreoffice, it would be fantastic.
