KaOS now has a new version that brings all the latest software updates, as well as several improvements and bug fixes that enhance the user experience. Sounds interesting, right? This is a GNU/Linux distro heavily inspired by/based on the fantastic and powerful Arch Linux, but with the latest features and technologies offered by the great KDE project, such as its state-of-the-art Plasma desktop environment ( KDE Plasma 5.13.4 ), access to all the latest apps integrated among the software packages found in KDE Applications 18.08 and also KDE Frameworks 5.49.0, all based on the Qt 5.11.1 library.
This new version is not just another release; it's quite special, as almost 70% of the packages included in this distribution have been updated to the latest versions—a significant number. Among the updated packages, you'll find Mesa, Xorg Server, Wayland, GStreamer, LLVM/Clang, Rust, Ruby, OpenJDK, NetworkManager, Protobut, the Calamares 3.2 installer , and, of course, important firmware and microcode updates to address recently discovered microprocessor vulnerabilities.
