Krita is a finalist in the Open Source Awards 2011

The Open Source Awards 2011 is this year's contest that awards the best applications Open Sourcewell it happens that Chalk has been nominated for the category «Best Multimedia Software«.

His opponents are nothing more and nothing less than:

  1. Gimp.
  2. Airtime.
  3. blenders.
  4. inkscape.

Looking at it in a practical way ... maybe Krita is at a disadvantage, but this is the only KDE software (that is, Qt) that is competing, so possibly this helps ^ - ^

The deadline to vote ends on 31 de Octubre, if you want to vote for Chalk here I leave the link: Vote for Krita as the best Multimedia Software of 2011

Then, on November 7, the winners of each category will be announced 😉

Well ... nothing more to add, I find a curious fact about another category but I will share it in another post.

regards

I honestly do not understand why these applications (Except Blender and maybe Gimp) are in the "Multimedia" category. Inkscape, for example, is for vector graphics. Where does it include Image, Video and Sound?
