LibreOffice 3.6 available!

LibreOffice, the most popular free office suite just reached the version 3.6.0. The Document Foundation has just announced the arrival of the latest version of LibreOffice. New Features make this release one of the most important to date.

LibreOffice 3.6 comes at a good time to reinforce its growing popularity, fruit of the hard work of the third largest community of free software developers, after Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. Not bad right?

LibreOffice 3.6.0 comes with many bug fixes and improvements, including the following:

  • Support for data bars and color scales;
  • Word counter in the status bar;
  • 10 new Impress pages;
  • Export to PDF with watermark option;
  • Support for importing Office SmartArt.
  • Import of filters for Corel Draw documents.

The full list of changes and bug fixes is available in the official announcement.

At the moment, LibreOffice 3.6 is not available in repositories but it can be downloaded "manually".

    Yes, but nothing new from the interface, no ?.

    I've seen a lot of opinions that they need to improve the interface and things like that.
    I say that right now in these "first versions" try to make it as stable as possible, and then concentrate on the interface. Although at the moment it works very well

    What a pity that it is not yet for arch D:, the truth is that they have improved this suite a lot, it is really good, the interface to some extent is secondary, because the most important thing now is to maintain and improve that stability that characterizes it.

    Great, Libreoffice is undoubtedly one of the best suites, only in this year it has improved a lot, hopefully right now they will improve their interface since debugging and improving software is a continuous process.
