LibrePCB: A Free and Free PCB Design Software

Long ago we made a top of Top 10 PCB Design Software in which we talked very in detail about various applications that allowed us to give life to our electronic projects, at that time we did not know FreePCB and I sincerely believe that it is a crime that has not been incorporated into said list, because to try to redeem ourselves we bring a review of this great free and free PCB design software.

What is LibrePCB?

LibrePCB is a free and open source EDA software that allows us to develop printed circuit boards, it can be run on multiple operating systems (Linux, Mac OS, Windows) and integrates in a single tool to project management, the edition of the diagrams and boards, as well as the design of the libraries.

This free PCB design software It has a very nice graphical interface, where it stands out how intuitive it is, so designing PCBs will be quite simple and fast. Its powerful control panel will give us access to the projects we have in development, with an ideal management of the latest edits and the projects we use the most.

It has all the necessary technology to relocate the devices of our circuits without problems, it also allows us to incorporate any library to our projects in a simple way, you just have to download and install the library to use and choose it in the project you want.

This tool is still under development so in the future we will be able to enjoy new functionalities and, above all, to have extended support to the functionalities that have already been implemented.

To keep up to date with the updates of this powerful tool we can follow the github official app or simply visit their website http://librepcb.org/.

How to install this Free PCB Design Software?

Will have to prove it. Although I think KiCAD is a very powerful alternative that also runs on Windows. The only thing that should improve KiCAD is the issue of dragging components and tracks once routed. It is very useful for PCB redesign.

I think librePCB is the only one so far that uses Qt.
