Clearing OpenSSL in 80 days could have been called this post, because 80 days passed from Theo de Raadt ad to create a clean fork of OpenSSL until yesterday when a very early version was released (titled 2.0.0) for the community to use and provide feedback. They say it was tested on various versions of Linux, Mac OSX, FreeBSD, and Solaris.
During this time (early June) Theo got quite horny because they had not been warned to the LibreSSL team about all these OpenSSL vulnerabilities that they had been notified to other projects in advance. But days later felt cunt when reading the ad of another fork of OpenSSL made by Google (called BoringSSL) and Google's promise to swap fixes with LibreSSL. In that same message Theo announced that the portability project for POSIX systems was already beginning.
To know more about LibreSSL, you can see this irritating but entertaining presentationWhile here you can download your code.
More fragmentation for the love of God. And more over now comes Google with another fork.
Instead of those developers collaborating on other projects that really need more support like LibreOffce, owncloud, cyanogenmod, replicant, diaspora, pump.io, mediagoblin
Read first the presentation of Bob Beck before dropping any fallacy like this (LibreOffice has even Google as a partner, OwnCloud has several companies that promote it thanks to the paranoia of PRISM and the unreliability they see Dropbox and other cloud storage services without forget about what happened with Megaupload; CyanogenMod has already become a company; Replicant is supported by CyanogenMod; and the social networks Diaspora *, Pump.io and Mediagoblin are protected by the FSF).
The only function of the OpenSSL fork made by Google is to rescue the LibreSSL bugfixes, as well as those of OpenSSL so as not to have to migrate to LibreSSL and / or update the OpenSSL every time a bugfix comes out.
But if you want to talk about fragmentation, better take a look at the number of people who are still stuck in various versions of Windows and Android.
Google is a state multinational and is governed by its laws, that is, it collaborates with the espionage of its country.
That logo of the puffer fish in a Che Guevara costume ...
Anyway, it is good news for those who do not support so many Heartbleeds in OpenSSL, and at least, the curmudgeon Raadt has the support of Google to give feedback to his fork (and I think they have no hope that they will not bugfix OpenSSL) .
Anyway, I hope that with EMacs and GCC I can port LibreSSL to Windows.
And to understand the joke of the puffer fish with the face of Ché Guevara >> http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rebelarse_vende
Well, it looks more like Chavez than Che! He's very plump. =)
The truth is that I did not understand well what is happening or that it would be better for it to happen; migrate to LibreSSL or keep OpenSSL? It would be good, for those of us who are not aware of the differences, that those who know give us their point of view.
I can't believe that asshole logo, I hope they don't continue to associate gnu / linux with communism, how disgusting
Let's see, I'll help you with the joke about the puffer fish disguised as "Ché" Guevara.
That logo is a very acid parody about the trivialization of the image of the Che, since many like to put the portrait of that guerrilla without really knowing his life or what he did as soon as he lived (in other words, it emphasizes the use that legal entities give to free and open source software).
Upload a tutorial on how to install it 😀
Compiling it from sources.
Notice: This version is experimental.

And what do you have against «that guerrilla»? Hey?
What does a program that you can use on Windows or Mac have to do with Linux? x'D
Only you in your paranonia associate linux with communism Artengos.
all very nice, but nobody talks about the most important thing, the typography! xD
If you enter the LibreSSL official site, you will see that at the bottom it says:
(This page [is] scientifically designed to annoy web hipsters. Donate now to stop Comic Sans and flashing labels)
That's nothing compared to the LibreSSL presentation, which has good jokes out of Monty Pyhon).
now already .. if he was joking, that's why the ": P"
Well, nothing, I don't see any «: P»
All in fuck, partner xD
