Linux for Doomies It is a presentation that I am working on for a project that we carry out in my city the boys of the Linux User Group localLUG from now on).
«Free software for all movement»Is the event we plan to carry out. It consists of three parts:
A first round with three talks / presentations on free software and hardware of 35 minutes each and a short question session.
A round of workshops, also three, lasting 1 hour.
Finally, a quick 30-minute technology competition (I'll detail it below).
The idea of this event, or rather; series of events, is to enthuse students from different universities to explore a new world beyond what they know and are used to, to see that we are in a world increasingly full of new ideas and ways of implementing them. We want to show that Linux, with and the free hardware They are not for hackers or robotics masters, but with a little interest, ingenuity and free time you can grow and learn a lot, all in a free environment born to stimulate your desire to learn and not restrict yourself to being just a consumer.
I do this article not to promote the event but to come to present my idea, the talk that I intend to give is one directed directly to those people who think that «Linux is for those who know»And who do not know what lies beyond that line drawn so long ago, who do not know the distros and how they come to represent even your tastes and ways of thinking. Who do not know the truth behind «Myths»Such as the high security of the system or the tremendous stability that it enjoys or that they are still afraid to install a distribution simply because they think it will kill their pc if they install something other than Windows.
With this proposal I also want to cover interesting points such as licenses, desktop environments and the most relevant applications within the GNU / Linux world ...
The point of all of this is pretty straightforward - doing it alone is tedious and boring. I want you to help me ... How? Very simple:
As of tomorrow, I will begin to publish the content of each point that I want to address, in the most complete way possible and with my personal annotations and you are the ones who are going to give me your opinions, I do not care what it is, if you like it, but rather you. Like, that if I change this, that I put that, that if it is a lot or a little to expose. What I want to do is create a talk with simple and very trivial content, without falling into elaborate explanations and full of spontaneity, but for this I need to have the opinion of those who live in this world with me about the content, its quality, their personal opinions regarding to the subject, in short ... ALL What they can say about what I publish will help me, whether they are good or bad reviews, all I ask is that they do not distort the issue and that they focus on making comments with reasons.
Another thing worth noting is that everything I do is available to the community and if someone wants to take the idea and implement it on their own LUG Well, fine, let him do it, that would be great. In fact, if with your LUG you want to do something similar to what we plan to do, take the idea and use it.
I have not much left to say, not until tomorrow I publish the first part of the content.
And remember, comment on whatever you want 
