Linux Lite creator Jerry Bezencon today announced the Linux Lite 4.8 availability, an alternative to Windows 7, a system that will soon see the end of its life cycle.
Based on Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS Bionic Beaver, the final version of Linux Lite 4.8 comes with Linux 4.15 and updated applications, including Mozilla Firefox 71.0, Mozilla Thunderbird 68.2.2, LibreOffice 6.0.7, VLC 3.0.8, GIMP 2.10.14 and Timeshift 19.08.1.
But perhaps the most important thing about Linux 4.8 is that the developer has taken the fact that Windows 7 will soon come to an end as an opportunity for those who want to try a free and unrestricted system, making Linux Lite look a bit like Windows 7.
Benefits of migrating from Windows 7 to Linux Lite 4.8
Windows 7 users who want to migrate to Linux Lite 4.8 after its life cycle ends can benefit from a similar interface, a free and comprehensive Microsoft Office suite, familiar software and a very warm welcome from the support forum, plus a very similar design.
Additionally, former Windows 7 users will be welcomed with a custom wallpaper to greet them in different languages, a configuration screen for tweaking Linux Lite, and a manual to help troubleshoot.
