Is already found available for download the latest version (final) of the GNU / Linux distribution that seems to be fashionable: Linux Mint 12 "Lisa".
Mint outperforms Ubuntu in the Distrowatch ranking, for the first time in many years. This shows that he is being a good alternative for disenchanted from Unity. |
Gnome 3 and MGSE
MGSE (Mint Gnome Shell Extensions), is a layer on top of GNOME 3 that makes it possible to use the new interface in a traditional way. All MGSE components can be disabled if we want to have a pure GNOME 3 experience, but with the traditional GNOME look.

MATE
MATE is a fork of Gnome 2, which is compatible with Gnome 3. Thanks to MATE, both versions of GNOME can be run on the same system. MATE is present on the Linux Mint 12 DVD edition. CD edition users can install MATE through the mint-meta-mate package.

Aesthetic enhancements
Linux Mint 12 uses a new theme called Mint-Z, which is based on Mint-X and the Zukitwo theme. As in the previous version, the default background shows a 3D scene with the Linux Mint logo. Other backgrounds are also available, including photographs of India and Yellowstone National Park.

Search engines
The new default search engine is Duck Duck Go, which they do a very good review of at Engadget. Duck Duck Go is a search engine that respects user privacy. In my installation in Spanish, there are two more engines: the RAE search engine and Wikipedia in Spanish. However you can configure more search engines to taste.
Linux Mint 12 "Lisa" RC Components
Linux Mint 12 is based on Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot. The kernel used is 3.0. Regarding the programs that are installed by default, we have Firefox 7 as a Web browser and Thunderbird 7 as a mail client.
For a complete review of what's new in LM 12, I recommend reading the release notes.

??
I'm not using Linux Mint right now, but I can think of 2 options:
1) Right click on the menu button and choose Customize or something similar. Surely from there you should be able to.
2) click and drag the icons to sort them the way you like best?
Cheers! Paul.
Terrific. I tried the RC and put it aside because you could tell it was missing a lot. The 11 seemed very similar to Ubuntu. Let's see how it is 😀
Thanks for the news.
In Search Engines: «The new engine ... that we have already told you about in Genbeta» <- did you get out of hand, or was it on purpose?
unity sucks
You only needed the old menu bar, you didn't need to go back to gnome 2 again. Since the new gnome-menu is somewhat more rustic.
Thanks Mauricio!
That analysis was taken from Genbeta. I have already corrected it so that it does not lose coherence.
Cheers! Paul.
Girl the one you have with the comments, you fucking son of a bitch, and then you criticize mark xD

We will have to wait for the update to appear. Until then the only option is to install from scratch. Greetings! Paul.
