The new version of the Manjaro distribution has arrived, version 16.06, a stable release called Daniella . Among its most notable features are the addition of tools for compatibility with new technologies. The KDE desktop environment in Manjaro also offers a desktop packed with new tools, providing a mature and powerful user experience. It also includes the Plasma 5,6 desktop environment, which works in conjunction with the latest KDE Apps version 16,04. Other improvements include a new Vertex-Maia theme, an enhanced experience with Xfce version 4.12 , and improvements to the desktop and window managers.
Looking more closely, the configuration manager offers a user-friendly graphical interface, making the installation and removal of kernels across different series a simple task. Furthermore, the distribution provides a very extensive selection of available kernels, comparable to other systems.
Regarding the kernel used, we find version 4.4 LTS , which is the latest driver available to date. Also, to offer users a wide variety of options regardless of system age and to provide stable support, different kernel series are available from the binary repositories, ranging from the stable 3.10 series up to the latest version 4.6.
For better integration with Plasma 5, a KCM module was created to work in conjunction with MSM within the Plasma system. It includes an optionally configurable MSM notifier.
Design changes were made to CSD for PAMAC 4.1 . Many of these features improve the details of package management; you can now click on a package name and choose which details you want to see. Package navigation can now continue while an operation is running. The new progress bar displays the current status of ongoing processes. You can also select any dependency to view its details, and finally, the terminal view has been updated in the PAMAC update.
