News about MX-21

According to the official announcement full web of the Distribution «MX Linux» the new ISO of "MX-21" in beta 1 state built based on "Debian 11 Bullseye", will come with the following news:

  1. Two (2) test ISOs: One of 32 Bit with Kernel 5.10 and one of 64 Bit with Kernel 5.10.
  2. New and updated applications.
  3. New installer partition selection area, including support for lvm if lvm volume already exists.
  4. New UEFI Live System Boot Menus. To be able to select live boot options (such as persistence, among others) from the boot menu and submenus instead of using the previous console menus.
  5. It will incorporate the Xfce Desktop Environment in its version 4.16.
  6. It includes the use of user password (sudo) for administration tasks, by default. This can be changed in: MX Tweak / Others.
  7. Many more small configuration changes, particularly in the panel with new default panel plugins.

In addition, its developers add the following for this first beta of the new ISO:

"With this beta 1 release, we are particularly interested in testing the new UEFI system boot menus live, as well as testing the installer. Testing on Virtualbox is welcome, but we are looking for edge cases on real hardware for the most part."

And they promise that when it's ready and released, it will also have versions based on KDE / Plasma, AHS / Xfce y flux box.
