The MX Linux development team today released a new version of your Debian-based distribution bringing with it the latest Debian software and security updates.

MX Linux 18.2 is available as a maintenance update for the MX Linux 18 series, which is based on Debian 9 Stretch, so this update brings the latest components, fixes, and security patches from the Debian stable repositories.

Among the most notable updates we have the inclusion of Mozilla Firefox 66.0.2 browser and VLC 3.0.6 media player, as well as other updated applications.

It also introduced new encryption options and the ability to choose an ESP installation location in MX-installer, improvements to partition alignment in the auto-install script, mx-repo-manager was also updated to show more repo options.

The AntiX Live Test System has been updated to support up to 20GB of persistent storage and to make it easier for users to create their own MX-Linux-based distributions. This release also improved the live-usb-maker program.

Of course, the mx-manual was updated with screenshots and revised sections, and almost all proprietary applications received a new translation.

You can download MX Linux 18.2 from the official page. MX Linux 18.2 supports 32-bit and 64-bit architectures and only has images for new installations, existing users do not need to install again, they only have to update using the code "sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade" in the terminal.
