From the past March I don't share any screenshots of mine, and the truth is that in these months, my desk has not changed so much 😀
Here I leave them:
Now details:
Icons: MaK-Lion Taste
Color range: ForkedIaOraSteel
Wallpapers: Game of Thrones (if someone wants it, tell me)
Dock: KDE Dashboard
Tray icons (System Tray): KrayScale
Desktop Calendar: Rainlendar2
The most significant change is that I now use Debian and not ArchLinux, this is the main one.
The icons that I have in the upper panel are not in the pack, they are separate PNG ... individual, if someone wants them I will upload the pack and leave the link 😉
I hope there are not many criticisms hahahaha.
regards
I am interested in the wallpaper, if you could put it to download and if you have others of the same theme much better… Thanks….
Yes of course 😀… here you have it: Wallpaper 'Winter is comming' [Stark]
Anyway, if you want more wallpapers of this series, come over here - » http://artescritorio.com/game-of-thrones
This XD desktop is great. What version of kde is in debian testing?
KDE v4.8.3 ... but soon will be 4.8.4
What version of kde is now in debian testing?
I wanted to try a debian season, but going from arch with the latest version of KDE to debian with an older one did not convince me xD
Well if I'm not mistaken KDE 4.8.4
4.8.3 ... but surely 4.8.4 will be available soon 😉
Actually the version change you will not notice much.
not now, but for some time arch had 4.8.X and debian was using 4.7.X I tried the latter and it was noticeable to change from one version to another.
Anyway soon I cheer up and try a debian season.
Thank you
Yes yes, it took like 4 or 5 months until finally in Testing (Debian) version 4.8.x of KDE entered.
The second captures the best… SolusOS xDD comes out
HAHAHAHA leaves the blog haha
He is very very handsome, I liked him a lot, but I don't understand why you left arch, have you had problems?
I have the same question, the truth is that arch is the only distro that does not give me problems
I had problems when I updated the last 3 times. After a pacman -Syu and restart, the system would not start me, and many times it would show me an error in English, whose translation into Spanish would be: «Sorry, nothing to do, you are on your own.»... this made me sick 🙁
But man !!
Let's go in parts, said Jack:
1 «the last 3 times. After a pacman -Syu and restart, the system did not start me, and many times it showed me an error in English »
The error you had is due to the fact that at some point you did not update the filesystem package that incorporates changes and modernizations (upstream) in the directory structure and therefore a corrupt image of the initramfs was generated making the system not able to continue with the sequence of boot, in fact in the general list (I guess in the forums too, although I read them less) there were a couple of threads on the subject and in all cases the reason was the same.
Solution:
a) to prevent it from happening: install the filesystem package using the -f option and then remake your boot image with mkinitcpio; Remember that being a fundamental package that can leave your system without booting -in fact it is exactly what happened-, filesystem must be installed with the -f option to force overwrite the installed system files.
b) if it happened, boot with a livecd, chroot to the / partition and install the sysvinit package.
It is worth remembering that when there is an important update to the system (repo [core]) it is advisable to take a brief visit to the frontpage of the site to find out about the changes it generates in the system, the correct way to update the package, etc.
2. «whose translation into Spanish would be:" Sorry, nothing to do, you are on your own. "
I wonder spider, you cite the most common message that appears every time the boot image cannot mount the root partition or mounts it but does not find the system files:
The error that could have given you is more or less like this:
«Mounting '/ dev / sda3' on real root ERROR: Boot device mounted successfully, but / sbin / init does not exist. Bailing out, you are on your own. »
The "Bailing out, you are on your own" the only thing that tells you is that the system cannot follow the booting process automatically, so you must make the necessary repairs yourself; the most common is that the system leaves you in a Busybox console so that you can try to solve the problem.
Remember that the message "Sorry, nothing to do, you are on your own." It is not a wash of Arch's hands but the kernel error / diagnostic message and that therefore can happen to you that using any distro, after updating its kernel, if for some reason when it is creating the boot image it is created In a corrupt way, the same message will appear.
[troliing] To use dpkg again after using pacman? What a nightmare!!! [/ trolling]
😀
Well, my mistake for not being aware of Arch's lists and forums then, I simply have never had that habit, because until that moment, an Arch update had always worked perfectly for me.
However, I do remember updating the filesystem ... just like putting kmod for the other package that was discontinued (I can't remember the name right now)
Well, I already learned something new today hahahaha, if I use Arch again I will remember to install it with the -f 😀
And I already said it, I never had the habit of before updating read or something like that, I guess it's a mistake of mine 🙁
About the text or message, I don't really remember exactly what it was (I don't remember what clothes I wore yesterday, my memory is VERY bad haha), but some of it was.
Let's see, let's clarify, so far the satisfaction that I had in the body when using Arch I have not had it with any other distro, it really has a very special place in me, only in those moments so many errors, added to the short time of that I had to investigate ... I simply opted to install Debian Testing and take care of all the work that was behind me.
Don't worry, here you won't find any anti-Arch hahaha, so far I haven't seen any, quite the opposite LOL !!!
Greetings friend 😀
I UNDERSTAND YOU PERFECTLY, despite being a Taliban archer, I am beginning to frustrate the fact that CUPS has stopped detecting the multifunction when I remember very clearly that I was ten weeks ago, grrrrr !!!! Not even with Ubuntu I have that problem, recontra-grrrrrrrr !!!!!
I know that if I start with time I can walk it out but it is not the definitive solution since I need the maximum hardware compatibility for when I have to do on-site supports, etc.
How sad, seriously: '(now I am creating a stick with openSUCIO to seriously analyze the possibility of migration… how am I going to miss Arch, LPM !!!
That's my problem. I no longer have time to be a beta tester ... of brave fixing the problems that the distro can give me haha. I need to install something, configure it only once, and then never give me any type of error.
and the wallpaper is great. from the Game of Thrones collection !!!! I have the others !!!! although I have to say that the Stark house is my favorite !!!!
HAHAHA yes, I don't like the rest of the houses very much ... except the one with the dragons hehe, but the 1st is the Stark 😀
"Winter is coming" what a good series !!!
Yup, I've seen the 2 seasons and it's really great. I don't read the books because I'm too lazy to read already haha.
Am I the only one who notices that it says "Wednesday of next week: We buy desdelinux.net”?
HAHAHA is that Wednesday will mark one year since the birth of DesdeLinux.net 😀 (I mean the project, not just the blog)
It's great 😀
Thank you
Simply beautiful desktop and more if it is KDE 🙂
thanks bro (I.e.
May I be encouraged to use kde soon. Now I am testing xfce 4.10.
KDE rules 😀
HELL YEAHH !!! HAHA
KDE, the desktop that I could never use and still don't know why
LOL!!! To try it with KDE seriously, you must have no prejudices, and like everything new ... have a little patience at the beginning 😉
If curiously I started with KDE in openSuse with the 10.something (I don't remember).
Since I didn't understand KDE, I switched to Debian / Ubuntu because I liked Gnome.
Without a doubt I will have to give KDE a try, possibly in Debian because it gives me the feeling that it is lighter than with Ubuntu.
Sip is lighter than Ubuntu 😀
That good 😉
Thanks
KDE has never convinced me
I started in this world with KDE (v3), then I went to Gnome2 (when KDE4 came out) ... and a few months ago I returned to KDE (now v4), just amazed 😀
Gorgeous setup 😀 I wonder if I'll ever pimp my desk like that.
Beautiful desk ^^
I feel envy, OF THE BAD!
the one about "kill gaara, he has a better desk than me"
xD
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA is not that bad hahahaha
Look, I still have Debian Testing + KDE, how do you integrate GTK applications to make them look a little better. In chakra there are some packages that do that, but in Debian ???.
Greetings.
Here we did an installation tutorial and some tips for KDE in Debian, try the tips to improve GTK appearance and if it doesn't work for you, tell us 😉 - » https://blog.desdelinux.net/debian-kde-instalacion-y-personalizacion/
Thanks, it worked for me 😀
Nothing, a pleasure to help 😀
Nice desktop, will you go back to arch? or I already caught you debian.
regards
Hard to admit… but Debian has the perfect balance. In other words, let's say that Debian is the girl who is not VERY good at all, but she loves you and makes you feel very good. While Arch is the girl who is really good, impossible more good ... she has everything, perfect body, but unfortunately her personality is sometimes unstable (like Benática haha), and it can bring some nuisance to the relationship 😀
