Nautilus Terminal: integration has arrived

Have you ever wanted the terminal to navigate to the same folders as Nautilus? I present to you Nautilus Terminal, a customizable extension which integrates the comfort y Nautilus and allows you to move through the different folders simultaneously.

Nautilus Terminal

This is a fairly young extension (only released on 09/09/2010) but one that promises a lot. Its name says it all: thanks to it, Nautilus and the Terminal are integrated into a single window, and each time you navigate to a different directory, the console will do so too.

It is completely customizable, among the options we have to configure it to our liking are:

  • Height
  • Font size and color
  • Font type
  • Folders in which we want it to appear

It also works with Nautilus "Extra Panel" mode, copy text with ctrl + shift + c and stick with ctrl + shift + v. To hide it, with ctrl + shift + H, and to show it again with ctrl + shift + T

Installation

sudo add-apt-repository ppa: flozz / flozz
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install nautilus-terminal
nautilus -q
