NeverBall: Game in which you must tilt the ground to manipulate a ball

We continue to expand our catalog of Games, because in our Linux repositories there are many games available, hence there is always something interesting to write about. There are a lot of sites on the Internet that review games of all kinds, although in Linux we do not have games with almost supernatural quality of graphics and textures, we do have many games (in repositories or on Steam) that can entertain us, here in DesdeLinux We have published approximately 100 articles related to games on Linux, this is one more for the collection :)

This time I want to tell you about a game called NeverballIt basically tries to tilt or rotate the ground or surface on which a ball is located, making that ball go towards some coins.

neverball

 Installation

To install Neverball look for the package with the same name in the repository and proceed to install it. For example:

In distros like Debian, Ubuntu or derivatives it would be:

sudo apt-get install neverball

In distros like ArchLinux or others that use pacman:

sudo pacman -S neverball

Neverball

Once installed you can find it and run it in the applications menu, look in Games and then Neverball, the menu that I show above in the image will appear.

There they can start playing, watch gameplay videos, help, settings, and exit. For example, let's enter Settings:

neverball4

There we can change the resolution of the game window (or put it in full screen directly), a little the details or quality of textures, music, the name of the player and the type of ball or ball. Here I want to stop for a moment, through this option we can change the ball with which we will play, we have available a Ghost (like those in the pacman game), Saturn, Planet Earth, a Reactor, etc. Here is a screenshot of the Reactor:

neverball3

Once inside the game we must move the ground or surface (using the mouse) to bring the ball to the coins, just as indicated in this image:

neverball1

Now, it will seem that moving the surface to take the ball to where we want is a simple task ... well, think again, it is not as simple as it seems, especially when the levels begin to get complicated and there is no protection on the edge, or that is, we can fall into the void and we must start again:

neverball2

neverball5

End

So far the post of this game. It is something different from what (at least I) are used to, normally we would have to move the ball with the controls to reach the coins, while in this game we must with the controls move the surface so that by friction, gravity and I don't know ... something else, move the ball and reach for the coins.

I hope you find it interesting, this is just another game available in our repositories 😉

regards

But it is not free. That is unethical.

It is free, and the ironic thing is that you say it, that you are using chrome and android

        I am not using chrome.
I use Tint browser (that uses webkit)
And I use Cyanogenmod, all free.
It's not my fault that the useragent detector desdelinux works like hell.

Of course, having no reason at all in the first comment, you attack the site in the second comment, right? Very kind and smart of you 😉

Do you know how UserAgents work? ... I'll explain it very simply, the site shows an icon depending on what the browser informs it is used on the device, if your browser says it's Android, how the hell do you expect us to guess something we don't know and put Cyanogenmod ? ^ _ ^

maybe you already knew him, but did you see this one? https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/kkrieger/?setlang=es

More than anything, the peculiar story is striking (in addition to the game itself): https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/.kkrieger

Before they kill me, I would have sworn I had a native version for Linux, excuse me xD

Insolent ... how are you going to do this to us? tt .. ..jajja .. xD

This game is great, they were polishing it over time ... it has its years and it is still a classic among the natives for Linux .. 😉

Neverball is cool. I was very hooked on Neverputt too, miniature golf vice! 😀

Neverputt, a game that NeverBall brings with it, seemed more entertaining to me 😛

Little by little I am playing games, to pass the time 🙂

I tried it on a live cd distribution and it's good, a little while ago I came across a game in the debian repos called mog and it's good, plus parts of the source code are commented in Spanish.

It looks good but I have a problem: the screen is constantly flickering, any idea what it could be? Regards and thank you very much in advance.
