This program looks good, I'm going to try it out.

Fuck, look at the interface and think of PhotoShop O_O

Krita's interface is quite configurable, in fact, in the video and in the image, they are different. It has different color schemes, docker configuration, add-delete buttons. It also comes with several profiles (and you can create and save your own) depending on whether you want to work on something vector, or draw without anything that bothers you.
Anyway, Krita's goal is to be a drawing tool for cartoonists and artists, I don't think it has the same goal as Photoshop, although the latter is used for everything, or Gimp.

Anyway I do not see bad that they have similarity. That way artists feel comfortable if they have used Adobe products before 😉

It's also true ... A good improvement to make the workflows between tools look similar in this new version is that they have added more shortcut settings so that you can leave it as you are used to.
I read around a while ago that the teams at Gimp, Krita and Mypaint wanted to make a common brush packaging system, so they could be shared and easily installed.

It would be great if those projects came together .. 😀

Well yes, that was going to say. I find it a bit silly to say "oh, it's too close to proprietary, let's do something completely opposite of rash to anyone who wants to transition to free."

It has happened to me as a 3D designer with Blender, although everything is getting used to, of course and it has a very cute interface, it reminds me in a way of my recently deceased colleague XSI Softimage.

I don't think the reason for the resemblance is the copy, but if it were, I would applaud them because they would be copying something that WORKS and that people know. I do not understand the mania for trying to do something different, it is as if Telegram had tried to do the opposite of WhatsApp to gain users, no, it is precisely winning them because it is the same (although they both give me a bit of disgust). Everything is getting used to, but between Krita and GIMP I have it clear, and even more so as a KDE user.

I don't know why but I still prefer Mypaint, maybe this program has too many things

I have been using it for a while and am delighted with the program. At first it is difficult to catch the point and the biggest problem I have is when inking things and when rotating the canvas (it slows me down). But it is definitely worth it.
I use a combination of mypaint + krita and I already forgot about the other programs
