We have taken on the task of modifying the way in which Desdelinux shows you the User Agent of the browser, and now it's in a less intrusive way perhaps.
Previously, the logo that each distribution stole a bit of prominence from the rest of the elements in the header of the site. With this new design it continues to do so, but it seems to us in a more beautiful way. However we are open to suggestions, and if you want to propose a design following the structure of the site, we will be delighted to receive it.
Among the novelties we can say that we incorporate the logo of Tuquito, Sabayon and we eliminate the one of iOS leaving only the logo of Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), for this system and MacOS.
What do you think?
It looks very nice, it was more uniform and elegant. Congratulations.
Thanks Ozcar
no funka…. they come out alone ??????
Welcome xfraniux:
What browser are you using? What distribution?
I bet you use Chrome as a browser… HAHA if the same plugin tells you elav LOL !!!
Not necessarily, it can be Chromium (although it's basically the same) ...
Well, confirmed about xfraniux, it doesn't work for me in Google Chrome either, is it because I use the Dev channel —it's in version 17, I think—? ...
Greetings, the distros banners are very nice.
Now I'm with windows at my work, but at home debian squeeze with chrome… .. greetings
Snif snif ... neither do I: Firefox with Debian
You must configure the Firefox UserAgent to show the distro you use, here is a tutorial that will explain how to do this step by step: https://blog.desdelinux.net/tips-como-cambiar-el-user-agent-de-firefox/
Greetings and welcome to our site 😀
Thanks, I'm already a Debianite !!
Hahaha welcome to the club .. We are already 2 😀
A pleasure to help 😀
Because you don't have the User Agent properly configured. Look at your comment, under your nickname that the Firefox logo appears but not the distribution you are using.
Hello and welcome to the site 😀
For the site to recognize which distro you use, you must tell the browser (Chrome in your case it seems) to show the distro, to do that the UserAgent of the browser is modified, here are two tutorials that will explain how to change the UserAgent in Chrome or Chromium:
https://blog.desdelinux.net/tips-como-cambiar-el-user-agent-de-chromium/
https://blog.desdelinux.net/otra-forma-de-cambiar-el-user-agent-de-chromium/
Oh and what distro do you use?
Greetings and welcome to the site 😉
I get off-center. Could it be a problem solving? I have 1280 × 1024 and I use Aurora (firefox).
It's possible. You would have to do a little adjustment in the theme's CSS. We would appreciate a screenshot 😀
If you can, take a screenshot and leave us the link, to see how it appears and try to fix it 😀
Here I leave it:
ups: http://i44.tinypic.com/vyrsra.png
I also get focused, I use Kubuntu and firefox 8 here (http://flic.kr/p/aPdkRF)screenshot
In chromiun, the square logo appears but repeated across the length and width.
F5 😀
Refresh the page, that's the browser cache 😉
ready though the image is cut off and it gives a white space on the right. 😀
If you can take a screenshot, upload it and leave us the link here, to see how you look and see how we can solve it.
mmm T_T ... I liked it more as it was before ... fuck HAHA
well here is the screenshot
http://s3.subirimagenes.com:81/imagen/previo/thump_7198090banner.png
Oh yeah ... I got it hehe, I guess with an align = right it would be solved, elav He knows more about websites than I do, when he comes (tomorrow) he will keep an eye on him and he should fix it hehe, thanks for the info 😉
Don't fuck around with what you liked best like before. You are an animal of habits .. Accept the change that I remind you, you did not lift a finger to do anything, just give me a few icons .. Damn .. how crying ..
JAJAJAJAJAJAJA so animal of customs right? HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!
And come on, stop complaining ... I (with a little help from Alain) made the icon change depending on the distro, as well as added the link and such ... ¬ ¬ stop pulling rags ...
And who came up with the idea to put the text on the search engine? Man now .. give him a drink hahahaha
It had occurred to me, only I didn't say anything and then I forgot HAHA… but nothing, now you will say that you don't believe me LOL !!!
Let's see if mine comes out… ..
Posting from Pardus Linux 2011.2 Cervus Elaphus + Google Chrome
Well, in my previous comment Chrome has come out but not Pardus, don't you have Pardus included in the user agent? O___0
Let's see now from Pardus and Fireofx, testing… ..
Well, neither, the Parduseros are the great forgotten 🙁
HAHAHA nope they are not forgotten ... check out the banner for Pardus here:
https://blog.desdelinux.net/wp-content/themes/arras/images/dlinx/distro_icon/pardus.png
What happens is the following ... we (<° Linux) did NOT make the plugin that puts the browser and distro in the comments of the users, what we did is that a banner or another appears depending on the user's distro.
In other words, the Pardus banner will be shown to you, but it will not appear in the comments ...
At least for the moment, because once we finalize details with the banner (making it look 100% good regardless of the resolution of each reader) then I will modify the plugin this one of the comments, and we will add support to many other distros, I have reviewed and it is not difficult to modify far from it (and I don't know anything about programming haha).
In summary ... Parduseros have NOT been excluded HAHA
In fact, read here:
https://blog.desdelinux.net/desdelinux-ya-reconoce-pardus-kubuntu/
😉
Thanks for the info, compa 😉
The Sabayon logo fit very well, it is a pity that it has to change the distribution. Cheers
HAHA thanks, these banners were made elav 😀
And ... why do you "have" to change distro?
I am going on vacation and I need a distribution that does not require as many updates as this one I am installing (LMDE), because I do not like spending so much time in the internet cafe, even so I will try to follow your articles.
A shame then 🙁
To read our articles ... I don't know, you could subscribe by email, and what we publish will arrive by email, then on your mobile when you check the email, you would have what we have published ... literally at your fingertips HAHA.
Greetings friend
I didn't know that, so I'm going to subscribe. Thanks for the info.
Nothing, a real pleasure, a real pleasure to help 😉
Thanks to you for your interest and for reading us 😀
Jo! And what do you have to change? Can you know the reason?
Of course I am, I'm going on vacation and Sabayon requires updates every week, I don't have internet and I don't like being in the internet cafe updating my system. But I will be following you.
regards
One doubt… if you don't update Sabayon every week, what would happen?
It only happened to me once and I am not aware of the subject, but for an example it is like this: Libreoffice 3.4.4 and the next one is Libreoffice 3.4.4-r1 and so on with all the updates and having not updated, pass me a package and everything stopped working, it only served pidgin.
I don't know why it happened ... but the system may not be updated for a long time, then it updates and that's fine, I've done it myself with Arch and Ubuntu.
In my case. You see a? big ha
What distro do you use?
You must configure the UserAgent in Opera to show your distro:
https://blog.desdelinux.net/modifica-user-agent-opera-mas-alla-de-lo-ordinario/
regards
It was really perfect from the visual 🙂
Thanks, the thing is that we have to adjust something to make it look good on WideScreen monitors .. 😀
Thank you
very elegant. excellent idea!!!
Thanks, this is not something new ... we already had the same but it looked different, now only what we change is the banner or logo of the user's distro 😉
Great! Fascinates me! Very good creative touches! 😀
Too bad I'm not going to be able to enjoy seeing the Tuquito logo because here at work they use W $% & ## $.
On top hahahahaha (As constructive criticism) the aspect if you use W &% $ # $% is terrible 😀 it is a good initiative to encourage us to use free soft 😀 hahahahaha
Hahahaha the Windows thing was without bad intention ... I swear ¬ ¬
I like it better like this, otherwise it was placed on top, so it is better integrated
PS: Am I the only one whose answers appear in red?
They also appear in red to me, it is very hesitant 🙂
The Red thing should initially be for the creator of the post, but I have to review the code 😀
The responses in red are that when someone is the author of an article, what that someone comments on their article will appear in red, but still elav has to fix some bugs haha.
Let's see from Chrome and Mac OS X Snow Leopard
Try try …….
I also liked how it looks 😀
I was editing your css and apparently to correct that problem is not to repeat the image and put the top and right, that is: "no-repeat top right" after putting the image.
So that it does not move, I got it by putting: background-size: 100%
With that it is very good unless there is someone who still uses internet explorer 8 or less than 8 xD
ps: I also see the answers in red, but very good eh xD
Thanks for the tip, elav will do some tests and hopefully it is solved hehe.
And uff ... of course you have to work with% instead of px ¬¬ ... look at what I told you ...
Hahaha thanks, I was thinking of doing the same thing as I don't have a WideScreen monitor to see the changes 🙁
If you want, I can help you as a tester to test that, while I can test that while I'm working, I don't have a single problem.
Cool 😀
We would be grateful 😀
https://blog.desdelinux.net/contactenos/
It's for Jhals, that I've gotten confused
I was referring to a form of contact to test what they are changing on the site, that is, to find out when they make the changes.
The way you left would be to contact me with them xd, and that way I also have the DL.net xd
Don't you have my email? 0_0
Well, just say the way to contact us and that's it. 😀
It is not a turnaround, but it would also be good if the flag of the country from where you connect 😀
Damn, no idea how that could be done HAHAHA, I have the theory ... but putting it into practice would be very difficult HAHAHA.
Well, you know, to crush Mr. Elva, sorry elav to put it into practice, yes, without catching him depressed for not being able to be with his little friend who later his inventions have more bugs than Ubuntu haha
wow I like this one more than the one before 😀
In the end, what happened to the images close to the search engine?
If I use linux Mint (let's leave behind the bad jokes), why do I get the Ubuntu logo? not only in the headings but also in the comments.
I use Linux Mint 12 RC has something to do with it?
I am struck that the portal does not detect my combination of Linux Mint Debian Edition with Firefox 8.0 (I get three question marks)
However, sites like this at least they detect that I use Linux and Firefox 8, and in the specific case of LMDE, these strings make it even clearer, maybe they can use them.
general.useragent.vendor; Linux Mint
general.useragent.vendorComment; Debian
Hugo man welcome:
Right now we are in the middle of chaos. All for adding secondary DNS on GoDaddy. Thank you very much for the tip. When we get out of all this, I give it a try and add it to the article ..
Hi Hugo, I saw that website and it works with javascript, if you disable javascript in your browser, you will not see your browser's detection. That's the advantage and disadvantage of using javascript on the client side.
Here the guys want to implement the same thing, but using PHP on the server side, only now they are going through various problems, but surely at any time they fix everything 😉
regards
Yes, I may have involuntarily had something to do with the DNS problem with a recommendation that I made to them once, since I told them that it should not give problems (a modification similar to the one they made did not give them to me) . Anyway, it's probably a NoDaddy thing to do. 😉
Hi guys, is it possible you can add a user agent for slackware? Thank you.
Hello,
Yep, we have Slackware support, here's the banner:
https://blog.desdelinux.net/wp-content/themes/arras/images/dlinx/distro_icon/slackware.png
Terrific. It does not appear to me, instead when I enter this blog there is the question mark as a drawing and as a text «???». I use the SalixOS distro, based on slackware, in theory it should recognize it as slack, but capable that requires some configuration or tip. Thanks anyway for the reply.
very interesting
Very good aesthetic detail, I love it. A query, can the Crunchbang (#!) Distro be added? It would be good to be able to see the symbol, at this moment Debian appears (on which it is based). I do not know if there will be many users of it to justify the work involved 🙂 but thanks anyway. Greetings from Buenos Aires!!
Sure yes 😀
Send me the .SVG of the logo and we make the banner for this distro, and we also modify the comments plugin so that it shows this 😉
Mi email es: kzkggaara[at]desdelinux[.]net
test user agent test
Finally, why did they remove this function? I'm just testing
