Oduso: Customize Ubuntu or Elementary with a script

What is Oduso?

oduso.com is a website (which I did not know and a friend showed me a few minutes ago) that allows us to install applications, customize and beautify our desktop whenever it is Ubuntu 14.04 / 12.04 o Elementary Freya / Luna.

Odusus

What can we do with Oduso?

Its operation is very simple, we only have to mark a series of elements as we need. Among the options we have:

  • Various icon themes (Moka, Tap, Numix-Circle, Nitrux, El Faenza, Pacifica ...)
  • An application finder
  • Various GTK themes (Vertex, Numix and Paper)
  • Other options such as installing updates, installing extra packages ..

and when the script finishes executing, we have the option to choose if we want to Restart, Shut down… etc, the computer. Once we generate the resulting script, we have the option to view, download or share it, because what we can study it before executing it.

I warn that most of the cases, all the programs are obtained through Ubuntu PPAs, so if you don't trust these repositories, you better not use the script.

If there is someone who does not know how to run a script, they just have to open a terminal and put:

$ chmod a + x scriptname.sh $ ./scriptname.sh

And that's all .. I hope it is useful to you.

    I have an error when I want to download the script for luna: I am informed in the terminal that the script was designed for Trusty. However, I have double checked and yes I chose the moon option in the distribution selectbox

      It seems that it has problems with luna, just now I tried for luna and it came out:
      targetDistro = freya
      if ["$ distro"! = "$ targetDistro"]; then
      echo "Wrong Distribution!"
      echo "You are using $ distro, this script was made for $ targetDistro."
      echo "Please visit oduso.com"
      exit 1

      He is clearly asking me to have freya lol
      you could try changing the value of the targetDistro variable and try c:

    I tried it on Zorin OS 9 hoping the script would work, and by the way it won't ruin anything on my system, in the end nothing happened, except for a couple of installed packages and the DockXbar program that I couldn't uninstall, maybe later and with the distros correct try again.

    regards

    It is still interesting to see the finished model and if it does not give the script to be able to do it manually

    good contribution guys !! to continue like this
