This morning through the web of Very Linux I find out about official announcement by Valve that they are already working on the Steam client for Linux, as well as carrying the game Left 4 Dead 2.
Developers are working on Ubuntu, although it can be used in other distributions in addition to opening a blog where they will comment on the progress of the development. In the first entry they comment on what they have started to work on:
- Get the Steam Linux client to have all the functions of the Windows version.
- Optimize Left 4 Dead 2 to run at an acceptable speed with OpenGL.
- Port additional Valve titles.
This may take a while, but at least it's official now. As for other games they carried, he hoped Half Life, Portal y Team Fortress 2 be among them ^^
We hope to have other good news soon, while we will have to settle for waiting.
