Open Ocean invests 1 million in Zentyal

We had already told you about Plant (old eBox) here, it is a distro for servers oriented to small and medium companies, it simply offers a lot of ease, it is worth taking into account.

Tom henriksson, partner of Open Ocean Capital and former Head of Corporate Business Development at Nokia, joined the board of directors of Plant together with Jorge Mata, founder and president of Berg Networks Redes and founder of MyAlert.

Open Ocean Capital is a company that invests in businesses related to communication, often Open Source projects. The financing will support Zentyal's expansion into the small and medium-sized business (SME) server market that is estimated to reach 17,4 million units in 2017.

Ignatius Belts, Managing Director of Zentyal stated the following:

"Zentyal is a fast growing server solution that combines cloud-based services to make network management easy and secure for SMBs. In just three years we have become the benchmark in Linux servers for SMEs and now, with more than 30,000 monthly downloads and at breakeven point, we believe that it is the right time to get venture capital investment to finally break the market. We believe that Open Ocean Capital is the best investor for us as they bring both funds and excellent industry knowledge to help us challenge current market leaders"

Tom henrikson She said:

“We are very happy to become shareholders in Zentyal, which aims to break the billion dollar business of the SMB server market.

Zentyal builds a rapidly scalable business based on a vibrant community and open source product and fits perfectly into the investment approach of Fund Three of Opean Ocean. ”

Honestly amazing, amazing what good projects can achieve whether they are Free Software or just Open Source, Mozilla and Android are just two examples, here we have another: Zentyal 😀
