The project openHAB aims to provide a universal integration platform for all systems within the home automation, known as domótica.
After 2 and a half years of intense work, version 1.0 of openHAB is available for download under license GPL v3. |
It is designed to be completely vendor / vendor independent, as well as hardware and protocols. openHAB brings together different bus systems, hardware devices and protocols. These protocols send and receive commands and status updates on the event bus. This concept allows designing user interfaces with a similar look & feel, but with the possibility of operating devices based on a large number of different technologies. Not only does it allow for universal user interfaces, it also brings the power of automation logic across the boundaries of different systems.
At the moment, it supports these protocols, and is easily extensible:
- Asterisk VoIP System
- Bluetooth
- Command line support
- AVM Fritz! Box
- HTTP
- KNX
- MPD (Music Player Demon)
- Network availability check
- NTP (Network Time Protocol)
- 1-wire
- RS-232
- Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)
- VDR (Video Disc Recorder)
- Wake-on-LAN
It would be interesting to see a project between software like this and the Arduino platform (much cheaper than a programmable relay, and free!).
Regards!
I love everything related to home automation, electronics and Linux, thank you very much for the news. I think this will be my hobby from now on and hopefully in the very near future it will be my source of income ^ __ ^ Another interesting project is opendomo (http://opendomo.com/)
interesting project
I congratulate you for the blog, it's great, keep it up!
Excellent, I liked this 😉
Pablo, did you hear anything about Ubuntu 12.10 coming with WAYLAND?
Sorry for my ignorance, but I don't really understand what this is for. : S
I'm in the same position as you.
Do you have any data on the "hardware" part to implement this?
The idea of the arduino is piola, but I have no intention of doing everything so from 0
Regards!
