And finally the launches of OpenSUSE 12.2! After waiting for many delays, the version is available release Candidate. |
Some of the new features include:
- Update to Grub 2.0
- Fix some systemd bugs
- Upgrade to Zypper 1.7.3 along with the libzypp library. YaST improvements
- gcc 4.7.1
- Upgrading to various packages, some of which include VirtualBox, nmap, R, pango, Go, phpmyadmin, vym, aria2, gnutls, mariadb, and jedit
- xorg 1.12.3
- Solution to some ALSA problems
- Small detail improvements to the KDE, GNOME, LXDE and XFCE environments, without major updates. Work is being done to try to minimize the errors that KDE 4.90 produces in Factory; if this situation is resolved, it is possible that this update will be included in the final version
- Libre Office 3.5.4.6
- Chromium 22.0.1190
We must bear in mind that in the final version many more changes may be implemented. The month of August will be intense in terms of correcting bugs, and on the 2nd of that month it is expected to have a second CR. By mid-September, the final version of OpenSUSE 12.2 should be ready for release.
Thanks Juan Carlos Ortiz for the contribution!
