<º Gamers: Strife

Via rootgamer I find out about the Public beta of a new game for GNU / Linux: Strife. This game falls within the same genre as DOTA and League of Legends, but also how much with story mode, which in my case is appreciated (games without history, except on rare occasions, I usually play little or nothing).

We will have at our disposal different heroes, in addition to several Pets with different powers to help us during the game. It also has both a general chat and rooms created by the players (or create our own). The game is free, but as in those mentioned above, how much with a payment system to acquire Gems to acquire new items.

The graphic theme is pretty good from my point of view and the soundtrack accompanies. It still has things to add, like more story modes, maybe even the Spanish language for which we are not good at English, but it is generally entertaining.
To play you just have to register at the link below (which also already adds you to my friends list) and download the package corresponding to your system.
Requirements:

  • OS: Windows XP SP3 or higher, Mac OS X 10.7 or higher, Linux
  • Processor: Intel Dual-core or AMD 2.4 GHz
  • Memory: 2 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 or better, ATI / AMD Radeon HD 2600 or better, Intel HD 2000 or better / li>
  • Connection: broadband internet
  • Hard disk: At least 4 GB of free space

See you in the game 😉

It looks good, of all the MOBAs out there, it is the one that most resembles League of Legends (my favorite).

You are going to be disappointed, it only looks like LoL in brushing, otherwise it has things much faster and different mechanics ... that's why I play it, I hate LoL and if it was too similar I wouldn't play it xD

Good. I hope there is good moderation in the users (in DOTA 2 I was disappointed because too many ratchildren had gathered).

You learn to ignore them or mess with them to get them to go off or do things for everyone to report on, believe me, it's fun over time.

It's interesting, but you lacked to describe it better. It is a good game but it is a rare mix with a lot of LoL and a pinch of Dota, at the mechanics level it does not introduce too much but at the interface and gameplay level with that of auto-raising your skills according to a scheme that you have given and auto buy items.

If I have to issue a criterion about that MOBA I would say that it is casual and it always will be, it is made so as not to need a team, obviously it has eliminated many tactical mechanics that allow to intentionally circumvent rules of the game (yes, Dota is cruel xD), but let's go it's fun at times.

If you play Dota and you don't have friends connected (as I do sometimes), better go to Strife for a while, it's horrible that you get child rats… for now in Strife, there aren't any of those.

I played it a bit (a part of the tutorial and an online game) and it's good. I think it is the first Dota 2 alternative on Linux. As I had read, this game is less competitive than dota or lol. Some things I noticed is that each player has their own messenger and that the battlefield is smaller than that of dota (or so it seemed to me), what if it does not convince me much is that each hero has his pet. Anyway, keep in mind that the game is still in beta

    Greetings!

I already registered. Let's see now how I get this type of game, which for me is the first of this style. I'm more from Insurgency and Arma, but I'm already a little tired with these, so I have to try things. Thank you.
