Pardus restructures, changes, improves: D (details here)

I remember almost 1 year ago (maybe more) that a blog appeared in the WordPress.com blogosphere ... this blog spoke only of a distro that became very fashionable, Pardus ... the blog, nothing more and nothing less was parduslife (http://parduslife.wordpress.com). Time has passed and they have their own domain now, and they are still sharing news about this distro with us 😀 - » http://PardusLife.com

Not long ago we told you that Pardus could go broke, but now the good news comes from the hand of parduslife:

The workshop on the future of Pardus has finished and here are the conclusions they have reached.

The Pardus project is central to the free software movement in Turkey and is aimed at offering the best availability of software in its native language. Therefore, Pardus will continue both in its Domestic versions, which are characterized by having the KDE SC 4 Plasma desktop, and in its Corporate version that uses KDE 3.5.10.

The distribution will no longer be developed solely by TUBITAK, but by the community, guided and sponsored by TUBITAK. For this, a board of directors has been created that will be made up of the following:

  • A development director appointed by TUBITAK.
  • A representative from STK.
  • A representative of the user community.
  • 2 developer representatives, one will be chosen from TUBITAK's payroll developers and one will be from the independent developer community.
  • A representative of the partner companies that offer support for Pardus.
  • An academic representative chosen by the universities.
  • A representative of the public establishment.

All this to guide Pardus as the best Turkish operating system for end users and businesses.

What conclusions do I draw from this? That Pardus has the opportunity to continue with his name, a fork would have a necessary change in the identity of our feline and a feeling of starting over.

What is wrong? There was no talk of roadmaps, or action plans, let's hope this board of directors becomes a reality and starts working hard to follow this beautiful dream that is Pardus.

This is undoubtedly one of the distros that I plan to try at some point, in fact I thought a while ago to try Pardus o ArchLinux ... in the end I tried for the first time Arch : )

Be that as it may, any news that confirms that a distro will not die, that it will not be abandoned is undoubtedly EXCELLENT news.

Thank you very much to parduslife for sending us this information.

Greetings.

Good, I tried to install Pardus some time ago. But at the end of the installation it gave me an error and could not install. I hope I can install it after this.
    Regards!

How strange that someone I know to help this poor girl who has made mistakes with Pardus does not appear around here

I was going to try it a long time ago but apparently it does not have the way to do a minimal installation, or at least I did not find the corresponding ISO. I only use distros that allow minimal installations, if they don't allow it I can test them but it is certain that I won't keep them. 😛

Here you have the .iso from Pardus for a minimal installation
