Good morning to all the fellow bloggers. I apologize for the long absence both to make entries and to comment, I have had some difficulties.
From KDE apps We have been notified of the availability of PeaZip in its version 4.8 with various improvements. We must remember that PeaZip is a tool that allows us to decompress many popular formats and with the advantage of being "neutral" as far as the desktop is concerned, since its unified graphical interface is implemented for both QT and GTK.
Some of the novelties that this new version brings us are:
- New graphic file management functions.
- New functions to sort alphabetically.
- Improves email integration features.
I must say that the only time I have used it my experience has been really pleasant. In fact, I have no idea why I stopped using it and I think I'll install it once more. It handles many formats and the best of all is that it does it very well.
To install in your favorite distro you can visit KDE apps where you will find the corresponding packages and portables. Or simply visit the project site here for more information.
I have been doing it for a long time, I tried to replace File-roller without success, mainly because of speed and integration. I don't know of many applications that give you the choice between GTK and QT.
I prefer 7zip, it is good, although it uses wxgtk, it seems to me for its graphiac interface, but it works fine.
Of course, everything is a matter of taste. When I used PeaZip I liked it a lot, in fact, I recommended it to a friend and he installed it in Windows and despite the time, today I called him and asked him about the program and he told me that he still uses it.
As I said, everything boils down to a matter of taste.
It is one of the candidate applications for not using solutions from the gnome or kde pack when we use a tiling windows manager or use any other desktop environment. Great.
It will be useful for a certain project that I have 😀
Thank you so much!
I did not know this program, will have to try it but it looks very good.
I always recommend it for Windows users, so I make them avoid pirating winrar and other compressors.
