Pebble: Wear GNU / Linux on your watch

The year 2000 was running when IBM he presented Watchpad, a wristwatch that worked using Linux 2.2 y X11 R6, with 8MB flash memory and 8MB from memory DRAM. Well, we can make a previous order (starting price $ 125 USD) de Pebble, another wristwatch that followed in the footsteps of Watchpad and that can be synchronized with our Smartphone (and other devices).

As a curious fact I tell you that Andrew Witte, Engineering Leader of pabble, work on the firmware of this watch using Xubuntu, and the graphics and images are created with Gimp e Imagemagick. What is cool? On the official website they have a video where they show the characteristics of this watch 😀

Needless to say, the battery lasts only seven days; they don't say it's rechargeable.

It must be rechargeable, obviously, but recharge the battery every 7 days? Fuck but if my watches last for years xD ...

And well, the price is somewhat high. But saying "I have Linux on my watch" is priceless, especially if it is to screw up the lives of my Mackero friends.

Man a Rolex is more expensive hahaha.

It doesn't seem that expensive to me, it seems like a normal price.

And what is the price in the market?

I like the truth. and $ 115 seems like a reasonable price for a watch with such features.
