Playing Poker on Linux with Pokerth

Poker, that game or sport for others of high tension and in which much more than just luck intervenes, how many of you like it? 🙂

The current fashion for Linux gaming is being Steam, and although there are many who use it (and so many others who simply enjoy playing online) let's not forget that there are still great games in our repositories.

An example of this is Pokerth:

pokerth

Those of you who enjoy Poker I know that this game will be interesting to you because besides it seems to be something quite serious and professional (I can't say more because I'm still trying to learn to play Poker haha) it has many configuration options:

pokerth-config

For example, here is a screenshot of what the default game board looks like:

pokerth-playing

And here after changing the board with a few clicks:

pokerth-playing-2

As you can see, in the lower left corner we can see some hands (Royal Flush, Full House, One Pair, etc.), in the lower right corner we find the log or record of plays, as well as an Absence tab and another that shows us small graphs or probability bars.

Of course, in the lower center are the main buttons and options. First we have a box in which we can write the number of money that we will bet (we can also increase or decrease the amount using the bar below), as well as the All-In button that means "I bet everything" 🙂
Also the Raise button, which is to bet the amount written above, Check and Fold (the buttons can change depending on how the game situation is)

Also mention that this game has a network mode, that is, it can be played on a network without any problem. In the first screenshot you could see that there are the options to play a game on the internet, another to join a game and another to create it, you can see some options in this regard also in the preferences menu:

pokerth-config-net

Anyway ... if you find it interesting install the package pokerth

I am still trying to learn how to play poker, does anyone recommend a poker site for noobs? LOL!!

regards

lol, I installed it but there is never anyone ... the only two poker applications that work well ... (or maybe better) in linux using wine are Poker Stars and Full Tilt Poker .... POkerth is fine but why use this one if you have those two beasts and on top of that you can earn money?

I play poker in http://es.pokerstrategy.com/ you can learn to play.
And since I don't like wine, the best thing I can find is partypoker.com. It is played from the browser and uses java or if you like wine you can try to install the program. If you are new they have the welcome tables that is for new ones and if you do not want to spend money you can play with virtual money or try to win a freeroll (they do many) new members can play one for 1500 dollars 🙂

    And how do I play?

The article talks about the interface of the program but not the program itself. 😮

[YaoMing] For Windowsers: It's like the game called "hearts", but there you can even bet your money. [/ YaoMing]

Anyway, I found it in my Debian Stable repos and thanks because I got bored with not being able to play Micro $ oft "hearts".
