Poseidon: A fast, minimalist and lightweight browser

Try Linux applications It is quite addictive, many times, we get authentic jewels worthy of the admiration of any user, in other cases some applications leave a little to be desired and others open the doors to new paradigms. On this occasion we have met Poseidon, a fast, minimalist and lightweight browser, that although it has certain characteristics that I will detail later, I think it still needs to mature a lot.

What is Poseidon?

Poseidon is a new web browser developed in Python with W, with the aim of being fast, minimalist and light. Its interface is acceptable, with handling of tabs, bookmarks and history, and incorporation of functionalities that in almost all other browsers are handled with plugins and here they are already by default.

This browser is based on another minimalist browser pybrowser.pyit also uses code extracts from other projects. In this gallery of images provided by its developer we can appreciate its characteristics that we will detail later:

Conclusions about Poseidon: Fast, minimalist and light browser, But ...

I really liked that Poseidon it incorporates so many tools and utilities by default, since as soon as we install it we can say that we have a browser that cares about the security and privacy of its users, in addition the built-in terminal added to the key generator, makes it different. Poseidon browser

Now, in any of the great browsers of today we can reach the capabilities that it offers us Poseidon, Of course, with the use of plugins and extensions that we can add as we want.

¿It's really fast? Well, at the level of functionalities, handling of tabs and refreshing pages, Poseidos can be considered a fast browser, but when we make requests to the sites I think it lasts much longer than the average. Its way of serving the pages I do not know if it is the most appropriate and using it for several hours I have felt that it has had some visual problems with some sites (This may be more of a problem for the sites than for the browser).

Its file manager is quite nice and I think it can become a browser for daily use, at the moment it has not been able to replace my headend browsers, I think it is more a matter of support and compactness over time. But as young as he is, I think Poseidon can do great things.
