PPASearch: tool to search for packages in PPA repositories

Doesn't it seem logical to you that there is a tool to be able to search for a package within the long list of PPA repositories available in Launchpad? Well, the Ubuntu Software Center is supposedly going to incorporate this feature in future releases. For the moment, we have to be content with this little terminal tool called ppasearch.

The long and endless search on the Launchpad website in search of that blessed PPA repository where your favorite application is hosted is over. ppasearch has arrived. Thanks to it, you just have to enter the name of the application and it will list all the possible PPA repositories from which you can install it. 

Installation

sudo add-apt-repository ppa: wrinkliez / ppasearch
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install ppasearch

Use

Once installed, run PPASearch, enter the name of the package you are interested in, and then choose the PPA repository from which you want to install it. David Ainley, the creator of this script was kind enough to make a video explaining how to use the little program. 
