The developers of Puppy Linux announced the release of Puppy Linux 5.3 (code-name: Slacko)
According to Puppy Linux founder Barry Kauler, Slacko Puppy (led by Mick Amadio) will be the “new flagship Puppy Linux” which they will recommend to newcomers
Like other versions of Puppy, Slacko was made with Woof, and this tool, according to the Puppy developers, can build a Puppy Linux from the binaries of any other distro.
Slacko Puppy 5.3 is based on Slackware 13.37 with the Linux kernel 2.6.37.6, it includes access to the Slackware repositories and I think it should be the same or lighter than the previous version of Puppy.
As usual, this new version also has support for a large amount of multimedia content and has the network manager Frisbee. However, as if this were not enough, the user can install packages through PET (Puppy repos) and also from Slackware repos.
