Optionally, it is possible to install the distribution on a distro based on Arch Linux or on Arch Linux itself. This is possible by adding the BlackArch Linux repository to the system.

Since BlackArch is compatible with Arch Linux and derivative installations, it acts as an unofficial user repository available to install simply by running a small “strap.sh” script as root.

Full BlackArch ISO image is now over 11GB and is only available for USB or VirtualBox media, but the project also provides a CD-sized "netinst" image.

To only show BlackArch categories, run:

pacman -Sg | grep blackarch

To install a category of tools, we just type:

pacman -S blackarch - <category>

Optionally we can install the BlackArch tool with:

pacman -S blackman

To install a tool:

blackman -i <package>

To install a category of tools:

blackman -g <group>

Finally to perform a complete installation:

blackman -a
