Released version 2019.2 of YouTrack, a project management software and tracking of incidents and tickets

After the release of version 2019.1 last March, Jetbrains recently announced the availability of YouTrack version 2019.2, your project management software and incident and ticket tracking.

Like any update, the 2019.2 version of YouTrack also brings new features and some improvements. Jetbrains reported that YouTrack 2019.2 launched with state machine workflows by problem type, a system-wide message banner, an option that allows you to ask members of your group to activate two-factor authentication, and more.

YouTrack is project management software and ticket and incident tracking solutions developed by JetBrains, which track tasks and errors, schedule sprints and posts, and create workflows.

Also, since its version 2019.1, YouTrack allows integration with the collaborative communication platform Slack.

Community-based language support allows you to switch to a community-supported language. In other words, YouTrack can be used in another language by selecting it in its user interface.

In this new version, YouTrack now supports app passwords for integrations with the Bitbucket collaborative platform.

With YouTrack 2019.2, now you can connect your project management software to a Bitbucket repository with an application username and password.

This allows you to set up integrations with a Bitbucket account using a two-step verification. It also means that you don't have to store your personal passwords in the integration settings.

This update also includes a new feature called "required two-factor authentication".

This is a new option in group settings that allows you to request members of a group to enable two-factor authentication for their Hub accounts. This helps you secure access to your YouTrack installation.

State machine workflows by issue type arrive in this 2019.2 release of YouTrack.

In fact, Workflows in YouTrack allow you to customize and automate the lifecycle of project issues.

With workflows, you can easily inform event teams, enforce policies, perform periodic tasks, and support existing business processes. A state machine rule governs transitions from one value to another for a custom field.

In this version, Jetbrains added the ability to write state machine rules that enforce different sets of state transitions based on the current value in a specific field. This allows you to apply restrictions to the streaming states for different types of programs in the same project.

YouTrack provides several default workflows that cover the most general use cases. For example, workflows that automatically assign a problem to a subsystem owner or handle a duplicate problem.

You also have this version of a system wide message banner. That means you can now add a global banner to the top of every YouTrack page. This feature replaces the previously supported option of adding a system banner when uploading a file to your server.

A final feature in this release is the setting for future dates. At this point, the search query language now supports predefined values for future date ranges.

You can use these settings in your search queries and report settings to find events scheduled for tomorrow, next week, or next month.

You can also use this setting to specify dates in commands. This feature allows you to easily search for problems planned for the future.

Finally, Jetbrains announced that it will no longer support errors related to Microsoft's browser, Internet Explorer. »

As we announced some time ago, since version 2019.2 of YouTrack, we no longer guarantee stable performance in any version of Internet Explorer and we no longer correct errors that can only manifest themselves in this browser version, «announced Jetbrains.
