Remix Mini: The project that aims to bring Android to the PC definitively

Many users only need an operating system to perform the most basic tasks. To check email, our favorite Internet sites, watch a movie or listen to music, we do not necessarily need an extremely powerful computer, or such a complex Operating System.

Apart from Windows, OSX, UNIX, BSD (and derivatives) and GNU / Linux, there are other types of operating systems that have been on the rise since the arrival of the Smartphone, with Android and iOS being the most popular at the moment. Android, being the most open in this case, has been taken to create some projects that allow us to run it outside of a cell phone. In FromLinux already we have talked about it, and so do the guys from Tecnología.net, with this excellent article.

Remix Mini

Less can be more. This is the motto of a new project that is in the Crowfounding phase in Kickstarter, and that promises to give us a computer with Android 5 by default, with an elegant design and innovative technology, or at least more pleasant to use. For this they use a fork called Remix OS.

Remix Mini

In fact, right now you can buy an entry Remix Mini through Kickstarter, that is, with less storage space and less RAM for only $ 30 dollars, since they previously offered a version for $ 20 that was sold out.

Remix Mini3

On the part of the connectivity Remix Mini seems to be equipped with everything, say WIFI, Bluetooth, LAN and USB ports. All this promising energy consumption that is practically laughable.

I honestly think it is a very interesting project, especially for Android fans who can now have on their phone and on a computer, enjoying the benefits and services that Google offers for its operating system. Considering that most of the options to run or emulate Android applications are based on extensions or web browsers, I think Remix Mini it has been a unique product.

if that's the "desk," it's spectacular.
I have used Android x86 and it is somewhat uncomfortable, due to the scrotum, but offimatic applications and others that Android has are very comfortable to use from the PC

I meant desk, today my dyslexia is triggered.
I have entered the project page and I have seen the tablet, nothing to envy those of MS

You have an MS tablet and one with Remix OS to compare….

Among so many ugly and problematic Android TVs, this fork for PC stands out and by far, the design is even more beautiful than Lollipop and much more usable on monitors. A great product.

I imagine that in this gadget the concepts of "root", "xposed" and the like do not work, do they?

It is a matter of taking a desktop and modifying it at will.

As for mobile telephone technology in Linux, there are no advances, there is nothing interesting, you cannot even develop your own application for instant audio and videoconferencing communication.

So far he looks good. It has an attractive interface and an elegant hardware design ... It will be necessary to see if everything is pure design or if it is really a project that we can take advantage of.
