Reprogrammed everything related to iPods / iPhones in Amarok, improvements in their support

From the blog of Matěj Laitl I read this good news. MatJ is a student from the Czech Republic, and if before you iPod did not work in Amarok And with v2.5 it did work for you, possibly it was thanks to him, as he has contributed to solving bugs and improving the support of these devices for v2.5.

It happens that he has just rewritten from scratch the plugin that implements the support for iPods, since the current one was slow and not very functional in his opinion, also the users of iPhone will benefit 😀

In the next version (2.6) of Amarok You will be able to enjoy all these benefits, meanwhile he asks you to report bugs, errors, to help correct problems or bugs that this new code may have, for this they must install the latest version of Amarok, enjoy the new before everyone else, and the errors that are found are reported 😀

How do I install the latest from Amarok? ... simple, it requires compiling from Git, mamarok explains it in his guide.

Hopefully a really positive change will be seen, I have no experiences with Amarok and devices Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),, but as far as I've read they weren't so bad ... I just hope the change is for the better, as it will surely be 😉

regards

That is to put free software to good use: improve it and share it

It sounds ironic that someone says that from windows XD

Many of us at work have to use it.

Great, this is one of the good things about free software! That you can collaborate (of course if you have the ability) and not sit around waiting for someone else to fix it.

But actually, although amarok is a great player, at the moment I'm using tomahawk, I like the natural way it proposes to listen to music on the internet and it's very good at discovering new songs and artists, although for this you have to use the vlc backend of phonon (if not it doesn't work). I think it is not as well known as it should be. Is very good

Good news for those who use Free Software and use iPod / iPhone but with respect to Amarok I prefer Clementine which consumes less resources and is easier to use xD

Nor is it that Amarok has any complexity in its use ...

I also preferred Clementine, because it does not consume much memory, the interface is simple and above all it resembles amarok 1.4, besides that it works perfectly with my iPhone 2g.

Of course, amarok has its own thing, only that to fully appreciate its graphic section it is convenient to use it with KDE, which I do not use = S
