Sc @ ut: Tool for children with Down Syndrome

Unfortunately, due to various factors, there are times that when you think about having a child, one of the reproductive cells may have 24 chromosomes instead of 23.

When these two gametes come together, the chromosomes add up making a total of 47. There are several chromosomopathies, but when this additional chromosome is placed in the 21st pair, what we call Trisomy 21 o Síndrome de Down.

Well, the University of Granada (UGR) has created an application called Sc @ ut, specifically geared for these children.

This program is based on the use of simple pictograms that correspond to gestures and words, avoiding the anxiety and frustration felt when communication is not fluent, according to Down Spain.

It can also help parents and teachers to track the performance of these students.

Sc @ ut can be used on computers, PDAs and Nintendo DS consoles.

It is fantastic to know that our universities collaborate with free software and at the same time do good social work. Hopefully this project comes to fruition.

PS: Without the intention of being fussy, in my opinion instead of gonads you should use gametes, since the gonads are the organs where gametes are produced (in the case of humans, testes and ovaries), while gametes (sperm and ovules, again in our species) are what give rise to this horrible syndrome.

Hahahaha I hide in real life, then here I am the quarrelsome little boy who brings out the bad host.

I don't think an article changes much, but I found it interesting.

I already stay like this, a 5-year-old child changes, I am already old for that

For better or for worse, you will keep changing. It will change your taste for food, women, hobbies, ... just like your body will change, it is inevitable. And you don't know what the experience accumulated over time marks ...
