One of the most powerful components it has KDE SC is your window manager, which is called KWin. Like everything that is part of KDE, kwin It can be configured to the core and has by default a lot of options to add beautiful effects when interacting with the windows.
KWin also includes effects the same or similar to those that we found in Compiz or those that OS X has, so I will show you how to activate them and even install a new one called Cool effect, which makes when we close to open a window, it appears and disappears smoothly.
Contrary to what many people think, activating the KWin effects does not slow down KDE by any means, at least not in my case.
Activating and Installing effects in KDE
The effects of KWin are found in Menu »System Preferences» Desktop Effects »All Effects. There we can go activating and deactivating according to our tastes. By default, KDE usually already includes some of these activated effects, but we can activate / deactivate them to customize them according to our tastes.
Without further ado I leave you a video where I show how to do it ...
