      No, it's not okay. What happens that when I made the articles I only looked in an old DB of the blog. Your item is newer. Now I include it 😀

    Thank you very much, this list will help me 😛
    Although I did not like the "beautiful" kopete, the classic is better D:

    * or * have made my day, last week I got a decent computer (core i5, 4gb ram, nvidia I don't know what hahaha) and installed KDE, it's just beautiful TTwTT) / I don't complain about anything and I even feel bad about send the XFCE of a lifetime to fly xD

    I am a complete n00b in KDE, but I read an interesting fact in the arch forums, KDE can run faster by disabling the akonadi by changing this line in the .config / akonadi / akonadiserverrc file:

    [QMYSQL]
    Name = akonadi
    ……
    StartServer = false

    the difference is very good and KDE starts with only 300 Mb of RAM approx (when you have a low resource PC, stinginess is not an option hahaha)

    Anyway, nice compilation 🙂 and I don't know if they recommend a good theme for KDE; D

      There are various settings that make KDE run faster from disabling akonadi, disabling Nepomuk, disabling Oxygen animations, disabling debug output, changing fine tuning, tweaking to fix the slow transfer problem on USB devices, and so on. The latter in particular had me cursing KDE a thousand and one times, until yesterday 🙂

      Before starting to "layer" KDE, do you want it to run "fast"? go to preferences, «desktop effects» and in advanced it puts: OpenGL 3.1 and Rasterized: v

      1.    Phew said

        In modest teams OpenGL 3.1 does not work correctly and to be able to use it well there is nothing left but to enable KDE, that's the good thing about KDE, to be able to do without what is not going to be used. In my previous team I had it hyper capped. Right now my Chakra is "out of box" without any change except for the plasma theme and icons

        1.    x11tete11x said

          given the specs I mention I'm pretty sure the board supports OpenGL 3.1 .. that's why the suggestion

            Well, reviewing, it is a 8400 Gb Nvidia geforce 1 card… I'm not addicted to games so no idea…. but activate that of openGL 3.1 and it runs just as smoothly, what do you recommend?

          2.    Phew said

            On my previous computer OpenGL 3.1 did not work and in fact it went faster when I activated it, because it ran out of effects: V

          3.    x11tete11x said

            @helena, now, you finish giving him the coup de grace: if you already have xorg.conf use that fate:
            nvidia-xconfig

            and then sudo nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf

            and under "device" add:

            Option "NoLogo" "1"
            Option "TripleBuffer" "1"
            Option “DamageEvents” “1”

            the nologo is so that it does not show the nvidia xD logo

    Wow! There are a lot of articles... a phrase that I have been repeating lately makes more and more sense: Desde Linux It looks more and more like the Simpsons. Every aspect of your life is summarized in one of its chapters. I can't find a trick or tip that we haven't previously published on Desde Linux or in Let's Use Linux.
    An atrocity!
