[Steam] Half Life 2, Episodes, Lost Coast and Deathmach Betas Released

beta_half_life_2_linux

This morning when I started Steam I was very happy and that is finally the betas of one of the best games of all time: Half Life 2.

This entry may contain some spoliers, do not read it unless you have passed Half Life 1. If you want to continue reading, there is you.

In Half Life 2 we return to take the role of Gordon Freeman. Twenty years have passed since the events at Black Mesa in which our main character has been in winter. The storm of portals has not stopped and an army of beings from other worlds have invaded the Earth trying to conquer the Earth, but a group of rebels, helped by one of the races have been fighting against them and led by former colleagues of Freeman and trying close the portals forever.
During the game we walk City 17, from which the invasion is directed as well as the old city and other places, helping the rebels to end the invasion.

Freeman will not be alone since during the game Alex, daughter of one of Freeman's old colleagues, the pet robot of Freeman and the rebels, will help us.
The Episodes They take place after the events of Half Life 2, while Lost Coast is a separate chapter where Freeman will appear in a coastal city and where we will try to defeat the invading army, although it is somewhat short.

And finally there is Deathmatch that is dedicated to multiplayer. This beta has been going on for days (even before Portal), but it seems not to be very popular (at least I can't find many servers and they are usually empty)

As usual, you can only get the betas if you already bought them in their versions for Windows and Mac. Besides, I recommend waiting for them to come out in the store and get hold of the Orange box which brings all this plus the first portal for € 13.99 (does not include Deathmach). Lost Coast can only be purchased as the Half Life Complete Pack (€ 27.99) or Valve Complete Pack € 71.99).

Without a doubt, a great game that you have to try.

You can install diablo III from PlayonLinux perfectly, it has a profile for it, I did it, just like Skyrim.
How interesting this is getting, at this rate I will be overflowing the Windows partition, hehe

Now I can play Half-Life together with the Orange Box on Debian Wheezy (previously updated the 3D table).

At last those of Steam gained momentum and that we already have in the queue the «Greenlight», which are like 341, a quarter of the catalog ... I feel that it happened to GNU / Linux at the best time

I am only missing DotA2 and Spiral Knights. I had the last one installed directly with the installer from the official site, but it is not my "original" profile (the one from Steam), so it is not funny to play with that 🙁

Dr. eli vance's daughter is called Alyx vance, not alex, I'll take them down when they come out in official, looking forward to half life 3, or episode 3 whatever it's called 😀
