Firefox and Clementine essential. Then, among my regulars are Thunderbird, Turpial, Cairo-Dock, Pidgin, JDownloader, Pcmanfm, Lxterminal ...

  15.   jose said

For me one of the best programs in history and also on all platforms…. with features to discover… is the vlc. Essential. Then also jDownloader, despite the java, avidemux (looking forward to the next version that promises the HD edition), GIMP, fundamental in linux ... .. and then other very good ones although with less use: inkscape, blender, banshee (despite monkey), keepass or scribus. The truth is that since I've been using linux, I have all my needs protected (few good options in each field, but there are always one that works for you). All you need is a good video editor, Final Cut type (the ones that exist don't work well for me, not even OpenShot, which hangs more than it should) and, if anything, a good PDF editor (the PDF Editor has not just released the new version ... and above all there are projects that seem abandoned).

  16.   Lucas Matthias said

Huuuu I forgot about Gnome pie (super addictive 😀)

  17.   jose said

On Windows I always have Photoshop, CoralDraw, Vegas Video, Office, and Acrobat. In Linux, the only proprietary is, if anything, the Nuke.

  18.   jose said

…. and the Lightwave. The best 3D software in the world.

  19.   Javi hyuga said

Well, I love pidgin, gimp, firefox, gwenview, kalzium, avogadro, jdownloader, libreoffice, kmplot, kalgebra, kiten and, even a little bit of Kturtle XD. I know there are more, but now only those come to mind 🙂

  20.   Christian Duran said

FIREFOX up there !. The best for its extensions and because (according to my vision of the world) it prioritizes the user experience on the web before the economic gains
I use Clementine a lot too!

    Can I make two requests?
1- Put in parentheses what each program is, because most of them I do not know. Example: Firefox (Browser)
2- Is there a desktop client for GROOVESHARK? I tried GSharkDown and I didn't like it. I can search for music but not see my own uploaded songs

DESDE LINUX COUNTS AS AN APP. IT'S THE MAAAAEST 😀

I like the ones that KZKG ^ Gaara uses to control the webcam of his neighbors with his age, I was going to say young but the sandy one is already an old man.

Whether it is funny depends on the use:

    Internet: Firefox
    Music Edition: Ardor GTK2
    Image editing: Gimp
    Vector Image Editing: Inkscape
    Distro: The rolling release KISS
    Environment: KDE

    1.    Courage said

Of course, it does not mean that they are the ones I use the most

    2.    kik1n said

      "Distro: The rolling release KISS"

The funny thing is that, in your image below is the "O" for opera and the ¿WIn ??? What happened there???

      1.    Courage said

I think I loaded the hard drive of the computer with Arch, what I do know is that it is screwed haha when I have solved the problem the O and the window will end

        1.    KZKG ^ Gaara <"Linux said

But you can use FF in Windows the same: D ...

by the way, Chakra still does not appear among the identified distros !!!!

    1.    KZKG ^ Gaara <"Linux said

In the icons that appear in the comments it does not appear, because that plugin was not made by us, and the plugin does not have support for Chakra.
However, the Chakra banner should appear in the upper right corner:
      https://blog.desdelinux.net/wp-content/themes/arras/images/dlinx/distro_icon/chakra.png

If not, you must modify the Firefox UserAgent so that it (Firefox) tells the site (<° Linux) which distro you use, so that the site can show you the banner:
      https://blog.desdelinux.net/tips-como-cambiar-el-user-agent-de-firefox/

      regards

  26.   Marco said

I think it's done because I see the chakra banner. Thanks a lot!!!!

    1.    KZKG ^ Gaara <"Linux said

Nah for nothing, Chakra is an excellent distro ... obviously it will have support on our site 😉

Hello a little late. what happens that I have 5 days of incursion with LINUX and I am with FEDORA 17

I would like the players to have a better sound. a good surrond I think it is written like this. I mean listen to it in low tones. no treble or that they have the option to suit each one to configure it as the windows media player 11 and 12

Mozilla on linux doesn't have many options. I mean, in the toolbar I can't set it as the home page, I can't remember the password. good appears as private browsing.

That there is an easier program to install some things of windows. in my case a quickbook accounting program

That you have an easier program to customize or change colors to the windows and desktop. Well the desktop I can easily change the colors and images but the gray window I see it more difficult
